God Save America

I stated in my previous article the fact that “We MUST have a Revival in America“. Therefore, I feel a deep need to teach my audience more of this subject.

First, why does America need a revival?

We must have a revival which will stop the floodgates of rebellion against God.

We must have a revival which will restore the moral purity back into our once glorious nation.

We must have a revival which will put an end to the mere lip service many have offered to God.

We must have a revival which will cause God’s men to preach His Word without compromise, and without fear of offending people!

We must have a revival which will cause God’s people to have a deep sense of urgency in reaching those who are unsaved.

We must have a revival which will lead Christians to love the Lord with ALL their hearts.

Yes, we MUST have a revival in America.

Second, let us take notice of what a Revival is NOT!

It is not mere emotion. Just because some tears are shed, does not constitute a genuine revival. Though tears will invariably be present.

It is not an evangelistic Crusade, though again, revival will lead Christians to show a deep concern for the Lost, which will lead to increased witnessing for and sinners coming to Jesus Christ.

Third, what then is a genuine revival?

It is an awakening in our hearts that leads to an increased awareness of the nearness of God.

We will realize that God is ever present with us and our thoughts become filled with Him.

This of course, leads us to love Him in a deeper, richer way, perhaps more than ever before.

At this point, will you not pray a similar prayer to this daily, and throughout the day:

“Revive me again dear Lord. Revival in America must start in my heart. Send to me, my family, my Church, and to my beloved America, the revival which will cause You and Your glory to fill my heart and Church. I am aware that revival will shake things up; challenge the status quo; bring discomfort to my often cold and calloused heart. I want revival! I need revival! I greatly desire and earnestly yearn for revival! I must have a revival”!

Next week we shall discuss revival from II Chronicles 7:14.

The Importance of “Being” a true Friend

More important than “having” a friend is that of “being” a friend. The Bible speaks of having a friend that sticks closer than a brother..
Driving to work today, I had been thinking about Leadership and Friendship.  I had been meditating on how vital it is that a leader focus on the encouragement of his team, family, followers, and one’s friends.

The leader must provide HOPE!  Why?  Because a Leader cannot lead others to rise to the Top while they are living on the Bottom of life!
People need Hope! They need to know there is going to be a better tomorrow!  A word of encouragement from a friend, or one that is greatly respected can make all the difference in the world, to a person who is clinging to very little hope!
The best way in which I provide encouragement to those who are discouraged is to remind them of God’s promises.

  • I love to remind people that God STILL loves them.  God said in Jeremiah 31:3: I have loved thee with an everlasting love.  This simply means that there is no circumstance that would cause YOUR Heavenly Father to withdrawal His love from you.  His love is everlasting!
  • I love to remind people of how much God cares about them!   Peter reminds us of God’s “personal interest” in us as he penned these words, divinely inspired by God Himself, “Casting ALL your care upon Him, (why) for He (God) careth for (who) YOU.”  I Peter 5:7.   Dear Reader, God not only loves you, but He cares deeply about the things which you are going through.   This is why God has invited YOU to cast (to toss or to throw) ALL of your cares, concerns, fears, hurts, loneliness, upon Him.  But why should you?  Because God careth for YOU!!
  • I love to remind people that God has sent a personal invitation for each Believer to come boldly into His throne of Grace.    Hebrews 4: 16 says“Let us therefore come boldly (confidently) unto the throne of grace, (why should we) that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
  • I love to remind people that God is Omnipotent, which means that our God is All-Powerful   There is nothing too hard for our God to do on our behalf!!  Matthew 19:26 states, “But Jesus beheld (means to turn one’s eyes upon to look at) them (you) and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God ALL things are possible.”  The question was raised in Genesis 18:14, and again in Jeremiah 32:27 the following:  “Is there anything too hard for the Lord?  Jeremiah 32:17 provides us with the answer to this crucial question, “Ah Lord God!  behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is NOTHING too hard for thee.

Aren’t you grateful to share in the promises which God has made to those of us who are Believers?   But you may be reading this article and are uncertain as to where you might spend eternity.   I would like to remind you of a few promises about eternity.

In Titus 1:2, the Bible, speaking about eternal life, makes the following promise to you. “In hope of eternal life, which God, that CANNOT lie, promised before the world began.”  God has made a commitment to man, that He would never deceive us in any way,

God made another promise to those earnestly seeking Him for eternal life, which means living with Him in Heaven.  In Romans 10:13:  “For whosoever (this means ANYONE and EVERYONE) shall call upon the name of the Lord, SHALL be saved:

Thank God for His promises which become a soft pillow for the troubled heart.

Whom do you know that needs your encouragement today?  Will you help encourage them in the Lord today?  Will you commit to focus more on “Being a Friend, than in Having a friend?   It will become a life-changing decision for you.  There are so many hurting hearts in this world.   We must be used of God to encourage and help our friends, and yes, even strangers.

Note:  Should you desire to learn more on how you can know you will go to Heaven when you die, please email me at:   I will call you personally on your phone and help you settle this matter today!!

A Forgiven People SHOULD become a Forgiving People

You have been hurt. And this is not the first time this person has wronged you. However, this time they crossed the line. They have hurt you for the last time. You will NOT place yourself in this position again. You realize that something must be done. The situation is not getting any better. Actually, it has only grown worse. But what should you do? What is the best way to handle the situation? And, what are your options?
The great news is that you do in fact have options. Right now you have three choices in dealing with the wrong inflicted upon you.

You see, once you have been hurt, you have the choice to either Blow up, Bottle up, or deal Biblically with the matter.

But, you protest, I just don’t feel like forgiving this person. The offenses have been too frequent and have left bitter scars uopn my heart. This is no doubt a fair assessment.
Stop for a moment and consider your treatment of the One who created you! Have you always treated God with the respect He deserves? Have you always been obedient to His Word? The answer leads to an important conclusion in your treatment of others: No one could possibly wrong you as much as you have wronged Jesus.
Understanding this will enable you to become more tolerant and willing to extend forgiveness to those who hurt you.

Forgiveness in the Bible means to send away. The Old Testament had a picture of what God does with the sins of each person who comes seeking His forgiveness. This is found in Leviticus __________ in which God……….

The idea is that God will NEVER bring those sins up against the Believer again in judgement.

LIST SEVERAL BIBLE VERSES and the east explanation I used in SS class.

I learned while taking counseling classes, that when a person speaks the following words, “I forgive you” that three promises are being made to the person that hurt you.
First, I promise that I will never bring the problem or hurt up to you! The key word is: Never! People have a way of remembering wrongs as though there were a reward to be obtained for the remembrance.

Share it with the World!

God created each of us with the unique ability to accomplish something significant with our lives.  We will one day die, and depart planet earth.

The goal is to create something which will contribute to others, not only while we live, but even after death wraps her arms around us.

Could it be a book that will help another during our absence?  Perhaps a poem which will continue to inspire?   Could it be a foundation which cares for the needs of others?

What, I ask you, have you yet to offer?  Please don’t answer, “nothing”.  There IS SOMETHING useful in EVERY person buried beneath the soil of your heart!

What idea has been buried inside your heart that you need to introduce to the world?   May I encourage you to start today!

There are MANY people in this WORLD that “need” for you to leave YOUR legacy. They need for you to accomplish that for which you were created.  Only you can do this in your own unique way.

Will you accept the challenge?  Will you leave something significant for posterity?  If yes, then when?  If not now, then when?

He who has My Son gets it All!

There was a very wealthy man, many years ago, who, with his devoted son, shared a deep interest in art collecting. Together they travelled around the world, adding only the finest art treasures to their collection. Priceless works by Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet and many others adorned the walls of the family estate. The widowed elder man looked on with satisfaction as his only child became an experienced art collector. The son’s trained eye and sharp business mind caused his father to beam with pride as they dealt with art collectors around the world. As winter approached, war engulfed the nation, and the young man left to serve his country. After only a few short weeks, his father received a telegram. His beloved son was missing in action. The art collector anxiously awaited more news, fearing he would never see his son again. Within days, his fears were confirmed. The young man had died while rushing a fellow soldier to a medic. Distraught and lonely, the old man faced the upcoming Christmas holidays with anguish and sadness. The joy of the season – a season that he and his son had so looked forward to – would visit his house no longer. On Christmas morning, a knock on the door awakened the depressed old man. As he walked to the door, the masterpieces of art on the walls only reminded him that his son was not coming home. As he opened the door, he was greeted by a soldier with a large package in his hand. He introduced himself to the man by saying, “I was a friend of your son. I was the one he was rescuing when he died. May I come in for a few moments? I have something to show you.” As the two began to talk, the solider told of how the man’s son had told everyone of his not to mention his father’s love of fine art. “I’m an artist,” said the soldier, “and I want to give you this.” As the old man unwrapped the package, the paper gave way to reveal a portrait of the man’s son. Though the world would never consider it the work of a genius, the painting featured the young man’s face in striking detail. Overcome with emotion, the man thanked the soldier, promising to hang the picture above the fireplace. A few hours later, after the soldier had departed, the old man set about his task. True to his word, the painting went above the fireplace, pushing aside thousands of dollars of paintings. And then the man sat in his chair and spent Christmas gazing at the gift he had been given.During the days and weeks that followed, the man realized that even though his son was no longer with him, the boy’s life would live on because of those he had touched. He would soon learn that his son had rescued dozens of wounded soldiers before a bullet stilled his caring heart. As the stories of his son’s gallantry continued to reach him, fatherly pride and satisfaction began to ease the grief. The painting of his son soon became his most prized possession, far eclipsing any interest in the pieces for which museums around the world clamoured. He told his neighbours it was the greatest gift he had ever received. The following spring, the old man became ill and passed away. The art world was in anticipation. With the collector’s passing, and his only son dead, those paintings would be sold at an auction. According to the will of the old man, all of the art works would be auctioned on Christmas day, the day he had received his greatest gift. The day soon arrived and art collectors from around the world gathered to bid on some of the world’s most spectacular paintings. Dreams would be fulfilled this day; greatness would be achieved as many would claim “I have the greatest collection.” The auction began with a painting that was not on any museum’s list. It was the painting of the man’s son. The auctioneer asked for an opening bid. The room was silent. “Who will open the bidding with $100?” he asked. Minutes passed. No one spoke. From the back of the room came, “Who cares about that painting? It’s just a picture of his son. Let’s forget it and go on to the good stuff.” More voices echoed in agreement. “No, we have to sell this one first,” replied the auctioneer. “Now, who will take the son?” Finally, a friend of the old man spoke. “Will you take ten dollars for the painting? That’s all I have. I knew the boy, so I’d like to have it.” “I have ten dollars. Will anyone go higher?” called the auctioneer. After more silence, the auctioneer said, “Going once, going twice. Gone.” The gavel fell. Cheers filled the room and someone exclaimed, “Now we can get on with it and we can bid on these treasures!” The auctioneer looked at the audience and announced the auction was over. Stunned disbelief quieted the room. Someone spoke up and asked, “What do you mean it’s over? We didn’t come here for a picture of some old guy’s son What about all of these paintings? There are millions of dollars of art here! I demand that you explain what’s going on here!.” The auctioneer replied, “It’s very simple. According to the will of the father, whoever takes the son..gets it all.” Puts things into perspective, doesn’t it? Just as those art collectors discovered on that Christmas day, the message is still the same – the love of a Father – a Father whose greatest joy came from his son who went away and gave his life rescuing others. And because of that Father’s love..whoever takes the Son gets it all. Dear friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, this story illustrated the love of our Father in Heaven, our GOD, for us. He sacrificed His beloved Son and whosoever would believe in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. The is the greatest gift of love to each one of us.

The Greatest Job in the World

On January 1, 2013 I prayed and asked my Father if He would allow me to win at-least 100 people to Jesus during the year.  Thus far, God , and to Him belongs ALL of the glory, this author has been able to win 184  people to Christ in less than three months!
The Call of Evangelism.
The concern of Jesus for lost souls can be summed up in Luke 19:10:  ”For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” To become like Jesus is to focus on what Jesus focused upon during His earthly ministry.  He cared about the unsaved.   He desires that all  people come to repentance.  the proof is that Jesus tasted death for every man, Hebrews 2:9 states. The Bible states  in 1 Corinthians 7:29: “But this I say, brethren, the time is short.”   This means that your time is short and that mytime is short.  The time is short!  It also means that in light of this truth, you and I MUST do all that we can while we can for the cause of Christ.  We must not delay; we must not meander;  we must not approach the work of Christ as though we have many years left .We have a Biblical obligation to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to each unsaved man, woman, and child.
But why the urgency?
Did you know that each time your heart beats two people have slipped off into eternity?    This means that 125,000 souls died every day! Furthermore, this means that 875,000 enter either Heaven or Hell every week. Again, the Bible says, “the time is short.”
I once heard a godly preacher reveal a rather startling fact he had read from a magazine article.  It said, “only 2% of the world’s population claims to have placed their faith in Jesus Christ and expect to go to heaven on the basis of what Jesus has done for them. If this article is accurate, it would mean that 98% are going to hell when they die!!  John 14:6 says, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

What a tragedy to reject Christ and spend eternity separated from God when it does NOT need to happen.  The Bible emphatically states in II Peter 3:9:  “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that allshould come to repentance.”

At the rate the modern Church is winning the lost to Christ, it would take over 4,000 years to win each person IF we had the ability to stop all births and all deaths during those 4,000 years. What a shameful fact. Ezekiel 33:8 says, “When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood wil I require at thine hand.”

The Beginning of An Evangelism Journey.

I faced the stark reality of this truth when at the tender age of 20, God spoke to my heart about rising from my bed and going to the local hospital in order to witness to a man.  I had worked hard all week long and quite frankly I was exhausted.  I promised God that I would visit this man in the morning.God again pressed this man upon my heart.  I knew God what god wanted me to do, but I was lazy and did not go.  I went to the hospital the next day as I promised God I would do, but when I asked to see the man, I was told that he had died just a few hours before my arrival.Ezekiel 33:8  screamed out at me as clearly as if you had screamed it at me.  I looked at my hands and became overcome with emotion as I knew that I now had to live with the blood of a lost man forever. All I could do was to cry out to God for forgiveness and it was then that I made a solemn vow to pass out Gospel tracts and witness to anyone He led me to. Will You Witness? What about you my dear brother and sister in Christ?  Will you look at your hands and ask yourself the question, “do I have the blood of those in hell upon my hands?”  Will you not also commit your life to the winning of the unsaved to Jesus Christ? My question to you is: how long, if ever, has it been since you have personally won a lost soul to Christ?Another personal question, would you know how to win an unsaved person to Jesus if one asked YOU to? If not, I would like to help you.  Please leave me with a way to get into contact with you and I can teach you how to win a soul to Jesus.

We MUST have a Revival in America

Ladies and Gentlemen, what I am about to share with you is one of the heart. What I’m about to say, is not something which would be nice to have happen. Rather, it is something which MUST happen and MUST happen soon in America. There is a deep sense of urgency in my writing.

What is a “Revival“? A revival presupposes that Christians are not what we should be for God. It further assumes that the Believer has drifted away from God.  It means a drawing back to God!

As I look at our need for revival, I can assure you that our Country, Communities, Churches, and our Homes desperately needs revival.

Read what I have learned recently while searching the internet:

  • 41% surveyed said they did not believe in a hell.
  • 26% did not believe in Heaven.
  • 67% of those surveyed said they did not believe the Bible literally.
  • During a recent five-year segment of time, violent crime had increased 560%.
  • During this same time frame, there was a 20% INCREASE in teenage suicide.
  • Over 3 million teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17 are now considered “problem drinkers”.
  • Since 1973 there have been approximately 55 million abortions in America!!  This obviously does not included those illegally murdered.

Please do not deceive yourself into thinking a genuine revival is not needed.   We MUST have a revival in America.  As a nation, we have been lulled to sleep.  We have become immune to the sin and spiritual indifference which has permeated our Nation.

We have become like the proverbial frog which had been placed into a warm pan of water on the stove.    The frog will grow accustomed to the warm temperature of the water.  Now you can “slowly” turn the temperature up and the frog will literally boil himself to death.  This is exactly what has happened to America.    We are boiling in a sea of warm water and Satan has been slowly, yet surely and consistently, been turning up the heat laughing at our new brand of Christianity.   Many have grown fearful in the pulpit, prophesying “smooth words” that stands for very little.  Our pulpits, which have stood for little, has fallen into a deep sleep that MUST be awakened with the fire which revival will most certainly bring.

II Chronicles 7:14 says: ” If my people, which are called by my name shall HUMBLE themselves, and PRAY, and SEEK MY FACE, and TURN from their ways;  THEN WILL I HEAR from Heaven, and WILL FORGIVE their sin, and WILL HEAL their land”.

Will you sincerely start doing the above four things NECESSARY to start revival fires in your heart?  And will you partner with at least one other person to  pray DAILY for the revival to start with each of you?

I believe that in these last days, prior to the return of Jesus, we can experience a National Revival, but it will invariably come,  one Person and one Church at a time.   Will you join me in being that person committed to causing God to show up and begin the process of healing our land? Don’t wait until it becomes too late!!

Please let me know if you will make this spiritual committment.   I will commit to DAILY prayer for your City, your  Church, begging God send a Revival in your heart and Community.  Also, please pass this website for others to read about revival.

II Chronicles 7:14 is a “conditional promise“.   If you do our part seriously, fervently and continually, you may EXPECT God to send the revival.  Do you want it?  Do you see the need for it?   May we pray like the Psalmist of old in Psalm 85: “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee”?

Comment from a Pastor’s Wife in Pakistan

Notes from a Pastor’s wife serving in Pakistan:

A wonderful message of encouragement. We surely need to reflect upon what God did for us in the past..He can do far above than our expectations …his plans are far greater than ours.Pastor maybe i am not a big preacher as you are…but I have Jesus in me…Just sending you a message on Trusting God When You Don’t Understand….. I like to learn…blessed to have you and your teachings.God is using you and will bless countless through you.amen

Pastor Kilgore’s Comments: Sister, I am a servant of our Lord desperately wanting to add value, hope, and encouragement to as many people as possible across this world. I am a little shot serving a great big God which is daily humbled by what God, through “each” of His servants is able to do for HIS glory!
Continue serving God faithfully and He will “continue” to bless your work in Pakistan!

How YOU can Encourage Yourself in the Lord

In I Samuel 30:6, we read of where David was forced to face some deep hurt on his own.  His city had been attacked by the Amalakites.  They had taken all of the women and children captives.  They had also set the city on fire.  His hurt and pain ran deep.  The agony that each man experienced was intense.  It was at this precise moment that David’s friends turned their backs upon him and began the talk of killing David.  They had unequivocally placed complete blame on David.
David was now forced to hurt alone.  Friends of a lifetime now wanted him dead.  David was so low in spirit that he had to reach up to touch bottom.

Have you been there?  Can you relate?  Can you identify?  Is it possible that you are currently living in the city of discouragement?   If so, you “know” the pain of abandonment during the time you need a friend(s) the most.
Now that we have admitted living in defeat, NOW is the time to rent a truck to move out of this dark, dismal city,

How can you encourage yourself in the Lord?   By Reflecting and Redirecting your thoughts.   You must Remember the following:

1.  Remember, you still have the Presence of God.  Hebrews 13: “I will NEVER leave nor forsake you”.  You are not alone! God has not abandoned you!

2.  Reflect upon the Power of God.

Reflect upon the parting of the Red Sea;
Reflect upon Daniel in the lion’s den;   Reflect upon the power of God’s spoken word in creation.

I know exactly what your troubled heart is thinking about now.  It is questioning your faith.  I know what God has done for others, but will God really help me? Will God really act on “my” behalf?
Am I really that important and do I carry any real significance with God.  Yes, 10,000 times yes.

Here is the antidote for your anxiety. I have no magic dust to sprinkle over your head to make you feel better. There are some things which you need to do to help yourself.

Remind and Record the “specific” ways in which God has answered “your” prayers over the years.   And since God has worked in your life in the past, why should you doubt that He will now?

I Peter 5:7 says: “Casting all your cares upon Him, for He careth for YOU”.
