Missions: God Asked me to Go; How Could I Say No!

Missions:   God Asked me to Go; How Could I Say No!

In the Book of Jonah, God told Jonah to go to Nineveh and cry against it. Jonah refused. His prejudice for the Ninevites ran so deep in his soul that when God said to GO, Jonah actually said NO! Amazing! I simply do not understand how anyone could say no to God. He created us; died on the cross for us; saved us when we repented of our sins and received Him as our Savior. No, I could not refuse Jesus Christ! God has opened the door for me to do something which is so big that I am dwarfed by the magnitude of it. God has opened the door for my Missionary Team to take the Gospel and win souls and start Churches on EACH of the 7 Continents! I am humbled with this call.

I have been asked by several people, “Why go to Other Countries?” There is so much work needed to do here. My simple answer has been: America has heard the Gospel repeatedly! America has rejected the Gospel, for the most part. Yet, Untold Billions are STILL Untold all over the world! I can no longer sit idly by and not get involved in “Rescuing the Perishing and Care for the Dying.”

• In Yemen, a tiny Middle Eastern Country. Twice the population of Kentucky, a state in America, with 24 million people, has only EIGHT KNOWN Christians in their Entire Country! I must go for them!

• Indonesia is the fourth largest country in the world with around 251 million people. It also is the largest population of Muslims of any country. Yet, if my facts are correct, has only five Independent Baptist Churches in the entire country. This is why I must go!

• As of 4/21/14, there are 7.228 Billion people living on this planet. Yet, in the 10/40 window, there are 4.65 BILLION people living in these countries with 2.25 BILLION classified as have NEVER heard the Gospel! Think about this for a moment. They have NEVER heard the Gospel! This is why I MUST go!

• Pakistan is the SIXTH Largest with a Population of Country of 183 million! The number of KNOWN Christians are 238,000.

  • The population of India is: 1 Billion 265 Million precious souls! The number of Christians are 21 million. This leaves 98 % unevangelized; only 2% has been Evangelized.

So, Why MUST I Go?

I.  I have a Specific Call: I neither offered, nor Volunteered for this! It was too Big for me to conceive.

A. The Call:   In December 2012, while praying, God extended the call to “Go Global with the Gospel.”

B. The Confirmation of the Call:

• Philippians 4:13: “I can do ALL things through Christ which strengthens me.”

• Jeremiah 33:33: “Call unto Me and I will answer thee and showest thou GREAT and Mighty things which thou KNOWEST NOT”

• Matthew 19:26: “But Jesus beheld them and said unto them, with men this is impossible, but WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.”

• John 15:5: “…without Me, ye can DO NOTHING.”

• Each of these verses confirmed to me that, although the task is daunting and impossible for ME to accomplish, I would not be alone. I would not need to go in my power, but in the power of God Himself! It reminded me, “I can’t, but God CAN!

• Then God gave me I Corinthians 7:29: “…the time IS short.” Therefore, I must do all that I can while I can for the Glory of God!

II.  I have Sincere Compassion: I care about the Lost. I care about your eternal, never dying soul. Your Soul WILL live somewhere, forever!

• Jude 1:22: “And some having compassion, MAKE A DIFFERENCE.” I want to be a Difference-Maker.
• Psalm 142:4: “….No man cared for my Soul.”

III.  I have a Steadfast Cause: I Sam. 17:29: “And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?”

A.   My Cause is to Evangelize the World. God has allowed me to become a part of something so incredibly big, that I am overwhelmed w/ responsibly of it.

B.   Here are my CORE Beliefs which motivated me to say Yes to God’s Plan:

1)   I believe w/ all my heart that All are sinners  (Rom. 3:23)

2)   I believe w/ all my heart that w/o Jesus-ALL will go to hell  (Rev. 20:14-15)

3)   I believe w/ all my heart that Jesus paid for EVERYONE’S (Heb. 2:9)

4)   I believe w/ all my heart that ANYONE CAN be forgiven (Rom. 10:13)

5)  I believe w/ all my heart that God has ALREADY prepared hearts Acts 8: Ethiopian Eunuch was seeking God; so God SENT a man, just like me, just like other missionaries, to Win him to Jesus Christ!

6)  I believe w/ all my heart I Corinthians 7:29: I have Experience, Soul-winner (Hundreds have been saved in 8.5 months) Knowledge, BUT 1 things I DON’T Have and this is time. Every time your heart beats two people slip off into eternity!  I cannot wait; I must go win souls and start Churches!

How shall they hear?   Untold Millions was the Missionary Cry of Yesteryear. Not for me! My Missionary cry is: Untold Billions REMAIN Untold!

But you may die, some have said to me. Yes, I might. I might at that. But if through my death there is a man like Saul of Tarsus watching and later gets saved and spreads the Gospel, will my life have been worth it? I think so.

Philippians 1:21: “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

Eight Lies of My Mother

Eight Lies of My Mother

Crying Mother

The story began when I was a child; I was a son of a poor family. We did not even have enough food. When ever meal times came, mother would often give me her portion of rice. While she was removing her rice into my bowl, she would say “Eat this rice, son. I’m not hungry.”     That was Mother’s First Lie.

When I was growing up, my persevering mother gave her spare time to go fishing in a river near our house, she hoped that from the fish she caught, she could give me a little bit of nutritious food for my growth. After fishing, she would cook some fresh fish soup, which raised my appetite. While I was eating the soup, mother would sit beside me and eat the rest of the fish, which was still on the bone of the fish I had eaten. My heart was touched when I saw that. I then used my fork and gave the other fish to her. But she immediately refused and said “Eat this fish, son. I don’t really like fish.”     That was Mother’s Second Lie.

Then, when I was in Junior High School…… to fund my studies, mother went to an economic enterprise to bring some used-match boxes that would need to be stuck together. It gave her some money to cover our needs. As the winter came, I woke up from my sleep and looked at my mother who was still awake, supported by a little candlelight and with perseverance she would continue the work of sticking some used-match boxes. I said, “Mother, go to sleep, it’s late, tomorrow morning you still have to go to work. Mother smiled and said “Go to sleep, dear. I’m not tired.”    That was Mother’s Third Lie.

The final term arrived….. ..Mother asked for leave from work in order to accompany me. While the sun was starting to shine strongly, my persevering mother waited for me under the heat for several hours. As the bell rang, which indicated that the final exam had finished, mother immediately welcomed me and poured me a cup of tea that she had brought in a flask. Seeing my mother covered with perspiration, I at once gave her my cup and asked her to drink too. Mother said “Drink, son. I’m not thirsty!”  That was Mother’s Fourth Lie.

After the death of my father due to illness, my poor mother had to play her role as a single parent. She had to fund our needs alone. Our family’s life was more complicated. No days without suffering. Our family’s condition was getting worse, a kind uncle who lived near our house assisted now and then. Our neighbors often advised my mother to marry again. But mother was stubborn and didn’t take their advice; she said “I don’t need love.” That was Mother’s Fifth Lie.

After I had finished my studies and got a job, it was the time for my old mother to retire. But she didn’t want to; she would go to the market place every morning, just to sell some vegetables to fulfill her needs. I, who worked in another city, often sent her some money to help her, in fulfilling her needs, but she would not accept the money. At times, she even sent the money back to me. She said “I have enough money.”   That was Mother’s Sixth Lie.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree, I then continued to do a Master’s Degree. It was funded by a company through a scholarship program. I finally worked in the company. With a good salary, I intended to bring my mother to enjoy her life in Gulf. But my lovely mother didn’t want to bother her son. She said to me, “I’m not use to.”  That was Mother’s Seventh Lie.

In her old age, mother got stomach cancer and had to be hospitalized. I, who lived miles away, across the ocean, went home to visit my dearest mother. She lay in weakness on her bed after having an operation. Mother, who looked so old, was staring at me in deep thought. She tried to spread her smile on her face…but it was a noticeable effort. It was clear that the disease had weakened mother’s body. She looked so frail and weak. I stared at my mother with tears flowing. My heart was hurt,… so hurt, seeing my mother in that condition. But mother with the little strength she had, said “Don’t cry, my dear. I’m not in pain.”   That was Mother’s Eighth and Last Lie.

After saying her eighth lie, my Dearest mother closed her eyes forever .      – Unknown

This story was NOT written by me, just copied, because I think this lady represents thousands of Mothers and Fathers across this world.

We must do our part to help them. JKM, Jim Kilgore Ministries is beginning a feeding ministry in Pakistan as I share this story with you. While JKM fed many people last Saturday, my heart was broken because we did not have enough money to feed those that came to hear the Preaching of the Gospel. I desire to start some in the Philippines and in India at the present time.

We will do this in association with evangelizing, Church-Planting and helping to sustain life as Jesus Christ DID while on earth. Can you and I do any less? If you wish to help feed, please visit our website at: http://www.JimKilgoreMinistries.com and click on the Contribution’s page.

I Have A Problem! What Are My Options?

Tears

I Have A Problem!   What Are My Options?

I know that right now many of You are hurting!  This week I have counseled many people who had such deep pain in their hearts that it led some even to the point of despair.  I love my friends and have provided Biblical counseling as I sought to provide Biblical hope for each one.

When people are hurting, they often feel as there is no hope or way out of their problem.  First, I love options!   Options removes so much stress from life.   My dear friends,  you must know that God always provides you with options!

There are two great forces at work in your life today.  One force is attempting to pull everything apart through a myriad of problems, while the other is seeking to put your life back together again.   Satan tries to Destroy while Jesus Christ is the Restorer.

The story is told of a New York hotel maid that had walked into a room one day, expecting to clean it for the next Guest.  Then she discovered that the previous Guests was lying on the floor dead.  He had committed suicide.    Now this is very important to me as just last week I counseled two people, that were definitely suicidal.

The maid found “the note.”  “I leave to society a bad example.   I leave to my friends the memory of a misspent life.  I leave to my Father and Mother all the sorrow they can possibly bear in their old age.   I leave to my Wife a broken heart and to my Children the name of a drunkard and a suicide.

Here was a man whose life had fallen apart.  He thought he had no hope.   It is a shame that apparently no one explained to him how Jesus Christ can put lives back together again! This past week God allowed me to counsel a man from North America that was suicidal, and later in the week counsel a lady that was definitely suicidal that lives in Asia.   By the grace of God, and use of the Word of God,  I was able to provide Biblical hope to each and they, thank God did not follow through with their suicidal threats.

As a Christian of 44 years, I have come to understand that there will ALWAYS come,  “Good News During Bad Times.”  There is always hope!   What is broken can be fixed;  what there is loss, there is often gain;   Where there is devastation, there is often the birth of a ministry to help others;   Where there is hurt, there will soon come joy.

In our World, it appears as though EVERYTHING is Falling Apart.

Just from this week’s news.

·         Malaysia Airliner Disappearance Possibly ‘Done Intentionally’

·       American President spends 1.2 million USD to go shopping and attend two Political Fundraisers in just one day.

·         BATTLE FOR CRIMEA: The Ukraine and Russia Situation.

·         Then there is what You are currently facing in your life.

If you will read the Book of Ruth you will see that she was living in a World very similar to our World.   Uncertainty,  discouragement; despair, people hurting and living in fear.  Yet as you read through the book you will see how God brought the people through the crisis they were facing.  This book of Ruth teaches us “How we can Cope when our lives are falling apart.”  It literally teaches us how we can put the pieces of our lives back together again.

I have decided to teach from the Book of Ruth on my Website Blog and on my Weekly Newsletter that we call:  ‘VALUES’   It will teach us HOW we can go from Devastation to Delight;  From Sorrow to Satisfaction, by using the same principles God used in the life of Ruth.

Do You need encouragement during this particular time?  Please feel free to send me a private message telling me your story and I will pray with you and provide any FREE coaching that I can on Skype to assist you.

No One Can Make You Feel Like a Loser Without Your Personal Permission

No One Can Make You Feel Like a Loser Without Your Personal Permission

                            Jim  Kilgore,  Missionary Evangelist

Loser

Years ago, Olympic diver Greg Louganis was asked “How do you deal with all the pressure and stress that comes from competing at such a high level?” He simply said, “When I get up on the platform the second before I dive I say to myself ‘Even if I blow this dive my mother will still love me.”

Much of my life as a young person was spent feeling inferior to nearly every other person.  I was reminded by the “in- crowd” that I just didn’t fit in with them.  I was laughed at, ridiculed, left alone.  Then it happened, I began to excel at sports and suddenly I had “friends.”    My self-esteem began to rise, yet even today at times I am haunted by feelings of inadequacy.

What I am about to share is what I read when the serpent of inadequacy visits me.  I do not know whom to credit, but I thank God for the paper I have read for at least 35 years.  It has encouraged me; inspired me; and provided hope to me.   This true story reminds me to take my eyes off of the negative and disparaging remarks of others.  It reminds me that I have been created in the very mage of God (Genesis 1:26).

From a “DUNCE to a GENIUS

When Victor Seribriakoff was 15, his teacher told him he would never finish school and that he should drop out and learn a trade.  Victor took the advice and for the next 17 years he was doing a variety of jobs.  He had been told he wasn’t very smart, and guess what?  He lived down to this belief others had of him.

An Incredible Transformation was about to Take place

When he was 32 years old, an amazing transformation took place in Victor’s life.  He was required to take an evaluation at work.  The evaluation revealed that he WAS a Genius with an IQ of 161.  Guess what happened next?   Since he learned of his “Genius Status” he began writing books, secured a number of patents and became a very successful businessman!

Perhaps the most significant event for this former high school drop-out was his election as the Chairman of the International Mensa Society!   The Mensa Society has only one membership qualification.  You must have a minimum IQ of 140.

How Many Other Victors are Living DOWN to the Expectations of Other People?

The story of Victor Seribriakoff truly makes me wonder how many geniuses we have walking around feeling like a loser because of any of the following:

  •       Sin(s) that has been committed, confessed, and cast-a-way.
  •       Social Standing.   From a lower income group.
  •       Struggling with a new task or job.

I had a man tell me DAILY the following phrases when I was in construction at the age of 19.

  •       You are Dumber than Dirt
  •       You will NEVER amount to anything
  •       You are so Stupid

I have learned not to pay much attention to the Critics (they can reveal blind-spots to me).     I have learned not to pay much attention to the Compliments either.  Both can affect me adversely.   I simply remind myself that “I am what I am by the Grace of God.”

Once Victor started listening to the correct choices around him, his life completely changed!  When he saw himself differently, he started living differently.    Proverbs 23:7 says: “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…”

Genius

What about you?  What is your story?   How have you dealt with feelings of Inadequacy?

Is Somebody Somewhere Waiting for you?

Written by:   Pastor Abraham Oluwatosin Adeyemi,  Nigeria

Matthew 9:36-38 says , “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

This passage of Scripture really burdens my heart. Souls are dying every day without hope for eternity. They are going to hell forever! The question is, “what are we Christians doing about it?” We must understand that we may be the answer to someone’s prayer who has been searching for the answer to how to go to Heaven.

I just read an article from a missionary to Kenya in which he described how he traveled by canoe without having a place to sleep, not having toilet nor benches for two days, with nearly 300 people inside the canoe. But after passing through this tedious journey, and had finished the Bible teaching a man walked up to him, and told him the following: “I have been praying for someone to come and teach us the pure Word of God since 1977.” What a great answer to prayer! Is someone somewhere waiting for you in Africa, Oceania, Asia, South America, North America, or Europe to come and present the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

There are two things you need to consider if you want to be the person that someone is praying and waiting for.
1. You must be willing to Sacrifice.

We have many Christians that want to do something for God, but they are unwilling to sacrifice much for the cause of Christ. If you are not willing to sacrifice for Jesus Christ, or for the propagation of the Gospel, you will not accomplish anything for the Lord. What if Jesus Christ would not have sacrificed His life and shed His precious blood for us? We would not be saved and going to Heaven.

You must be willing to sacrifice your time and your money in the service for Jesus. It is Jesus Christ which gives you money and wealth; you are expected to give back to His cause.

I have asked this question many times, “If the Lord blesses you with one million dollars, how would you spend it?” To be honest, and with the help of God, I will travel in Africa and Asia preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What about you? Christians are relaxed about building a fancy building and buying luxury things, but people are dying and going to hell every second of every day!

2. You must be willing to leave your Comfort Zone.

Here comes the real problem. We have come to enjoy all the beautiful things in our countries with the beautiful houses, expensive cars, and a good clean environment. This problem is why so many places are unreached because we Christians have been unwilling to leave our comfort zone to sit is a strange seat. Islam is the fastest growing religion because they are moving around from country to country. Jesus said, “the harvest is truly plenteous, but the laborers are few.” He wants us to see the need to reach the world.

                                     A Missionary Cry
A hundred thousand souls a day, are passing one by one away.
In Christ-less guilt and gloom, without one ray of hope or light.
With future dark as endless night, they are passing to their doom, they are passing to their doom.
They are passing, passing fast away. In thousands day and day, they are passing to their doom, they are passing to their doom.

Jude 22: “And of some having compassion, making a difference.”

Four Principles to Use Against the Enemies of our Victory (Principle One)

image

The Christian Life is not a Playground; the Christian Life is a Battleground
As a Christian, you MUST understand that the Christian life is not a Playground, rather it is a Battleground!  The earth is the battleground for the souls of men.   Like it or not, you have an enemy.  I Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
Satan knows that he cannot take away our salvation, for salvation is an eternal transaction.          I John 5:11-13 states:  11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.  Since Satan cannot take away our salvation, he uses what I believe to be his most effective weapon, “Discouragement.”  Discouragement often leads to a loss of joy and  of victory.  Any military person understands that to be successful against your enemy, you must understand that enemy.  We had previously studied the four enemies of victory; today let us learn how to fight the first of those enemies.
How Can I Battle Against the Four Main Enemies of Victory?.

In Philippians 1:12-14 Paul reminds us that our enemy often uses adverse circumstances to attack us.    What were Paul’s circumstances during the time he is writing about victory?  Paul was sitting in a Roman prison.    He was uncertain as to whether he would be set free or be put to death.  Yet his attitude was: “It really does not make any difference what happens to me as long as Jesus is glorified and I have another opportunity to present the Gospel.”   Amazing!  We must understand that this man truly lived to honor Jesus Christ and to win every unsaved person he could to the Lord.  Philippians 1:21 Paul said, which I believe was not a flippant comment, but one born out of the depth of his soul: “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”  You could not threaten Paul with Heaven!  His focus was not on the Problems, rather in the Possibilities which Presented themselves through the Problems.

To win the war against unfavorable circumstances, we to must focus on the Purpose and Plan of God in our lives.  We must truly accept Romans 8:28 as an unshakable truth in our lives.  It reminds us: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”  Once you accept this verse as a promise that God uses EVERY adverse circumstance in your life for your good and His glory, you will begin asking  4 critical questions which will lift you above the adversity.

The Four Crucial Questions to Ask Your Father During Adversity

1. What are you trying to Teach me through this situation?

2. How can I use this adversity to Glorify Jesus Christ?

3. How can I use my Situation to Encourage others?

4. Are you Opening a door of Ministry for me?  (Many of the great ministries were born out of adversity).

I honestly believe that the possibilities are numerous once we decide to act Spiritually and not react Emotionally.”

Someone has well said, “Your Outlook WILL determine your Outcome.”   Our outlook on the adversity must be one of: “I will Glorify Jesus through this situation, and I will search for people whom I can share the Gospel with.

We want God to change our circumstances, but God wants to use our circumstances to change us!     Romans 8:29.
