Revival: We Will Pray, or We Will Fail!

Revival:  We Will Pray, or We Will Fail!

Psalm 85:6 is a prayer for revival.  It asked God, “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?

I firmly believe that America needs a revival.  You need a revival.  I need a revival; Our Churches are in desperate need of a revival.  Most families are in dire need of a revival. We need revival! We must have revival! Revival is no longer an option.  It is something we must have!

Questions Each Christian Must Seriously Ask and Answer

  • Do you REALLY want to have a revival?

  • Are you willing to pay the price to obtain a Heaven-sent revival?

  •  Are you willing to humble yourself, and pray, and seek His face, and turn from your wicked ways? (II Chronicles 7:14).

  •  Are you willing to allow the Holy Spirit to perform spiritual surgery upon your proud, and independent heart?

  • Are you willing to submit to the painful process of Biblical repentance of allowing the Holy Spirit to Break up your Fallow ground?

Hosea 10:12:
“Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. “  Fallow ground is ground which at one time was fruitful, and productive.  But over the years a certain hardness has settled into the soil and now the ground is barren and fruitless. This is the true condition of most of our hearts, my fellow Christian.   If we REALLY want to have revival, we must start his process individually before it can sweep across America Nationally.  We can no longer say that America is sinful until we see the exceeding sinfulness of our own person sin that has contributed to the demise of this GREAT Country (Romans 7:13).
Some Are Questioning, Will God Send a Revival to America?

The answer is an emphatic ‘YES’.  God can, and will send revival when you and I are willing to pay the price to obtain one.

There Are Many Reasons Why God Has Withheld Revival From America

1.  The reason we’re not having revival may be that we have not been praying for one.  Or, if we are praying for a revival, are we praying with the faith to believe that God ‘Can’ send the revival we so desperately need?  James 4:2 reminds us that “we have not because we ask not.”

 2.   James has taught us that when we pray.” we must ask in faith, nothing wavering…    (James 1:5-8).  1 John 5:14,And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:”  We know that it is God’s will to send revival, so we may ask boldly and confidently, expecting God to grant our desire, (Psalm 37:4).

3.   And yet is still possible to ask, and to even ask in faith, yet not obtain.   James 4:3 makes this very clear, “Ye ask , and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.”  This is simply praying with selfish motives.   In revival we need to be concerned about the Glory of God and not so life will be easier for us as believers in America.
At this point, I want to ask you, why do you want to have a revival?  What are your real reasons for desiring revival?  What are your motives for seeking revival?
4.     Sin will prevent God from doing that which is obviously His will to do, which in this case, is to send a revival to us.

God said to Moses, after he had heard the cry of Israel in bondage, Exodus 3:7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows.”
Yet years later, speaking this time through the Prophet Isaiah,  but about the same people, God had this to say about their prayers:  “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear,”  Isaiah 59:2.
We must now take time to do what David did in Psalm 139:23-24 and invite the Holy Spirit to search (ransack)  our hearts and for Him to reveal any and all of the wickedness in our hearts. Here we see the position of God with regards to the prayers of his chosen people Israel, both prayers were made by his people, and it was a cry unto the Lord, but we see God being favorably disposed to one, while to the other one he hid his face. For every prayer that is presented, God, who is the Omnipotent one has the ability, the power and the resources to fulfill them (Philippians 4:19, Jeremiah 32:27).
But such prayers must first of all get his attention. Even the enemy of our soul knows this simple truth, and this is why his attack on the prayer life and the prayers of believers is either to get them out of their prayer closet through discouragement, or simply to set up road blocks in order to intercept and derail their prayers. So our job is to remove those barriers and clear the way for God to listen to, and then move in response to our prayers.  James 5:15 has reminded the believer that  “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”   We need to have prevailing prayer which is prayer that gets that which is asked of God.

In a revival, the hearts of God’s people are broken in repentance and genuine humility, the Lord’s people come together in love and service, and the Lord’s work of ministry, giving, witnessing, and missionary activity moves forward at lightning speed.

Oh may we all pray this prayer so fervently, and yet so sincerely from the depths of our hearts:

Lord, Send a Revival,
Lord, Send a Revival,
Lord, Send a Revival,
And let it begin in me.

A friend of mine in Alaska and I have recently started a new Facebook Group Page athttps://www.facebook.com/groups/1604847593061820/),  which we have called: “We MUST Have Revival in America.”  You may join us by hitting Like on our page.  We will keep you informed on topics concerning revival and updates on what is happening across America.

Justified: How Can A Holy God Justify Sinners??

Justified: How Can A Holy God Justify Sinners?

Justified

Job 9:2 asks a thought-provoking question, “I know it is of a truth: but HOW shall a man be just with God?” How can a person really be justified before a holy God? Or, how can a holy God justify sinners? What great questions they are.

However, it is imperative that we clearly understand from the beginning, that God does not overlook our sin. God personally dealt with the sin question 2,000 years ago. He did this on the Cross, through His sinless Son, Jesus Christ. We have been justified as a result of a three step process. We shall look at the first step today.

We Have Been Justified Freely By God’s Grace

Romans 3:24 says: “Being justified FREELY by His grace through the redemption that is IN Christ Jesus.” Paul reminds the Believer that justification is not by merit, but completely by the Glorious Grace of God! The word freely could be translated “without a cause.” In other words, there is NOTHING within you and I that would cause God to justify us because of our “good, moral, and exemplary life.” No, Paul concludes that justification is definitely an act of pure grace.

What exactly is grace? Grace is the unmerited and unmeritable favor of our Righteous and Holy God. Grace in its simpler term means, “God is giving to sinful man, that which man does NOT deserve.” Paul said to the Christians in Ephesus that their salvation was all by the grace of God. Ephesians 2:8-9: “ For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not that of yourselves; It is the GIFT of God; not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Who Exactly Does God Actually Justify?

God justifies the ungodly person. Romans 4:5 “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” This is just the opposite of what took place during the Old Testament days.

Deuteronomy 25:1 shares this truth with us: “If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.”

Now if God were to deal with us like this today, would we not ALL be condemned to be an eternal hell forever? Yet God does NOT want man to remain separated from Him. II Peter 3:9 says: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” I Timothy 2:4 expresses the desire of God perfectly, “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”

This is pure grace. What is man really life when standing exposed to the perpetrating eyes of God? Romans 3:23 reminds us that WE have ALL sinned and come short of the glory of God. We do not even come close to the perfection of God. In fact, the closer I get to God, the blacker my sin becomes to me. How sad, but after being a Christian for these 44 years, I am just beginning to understand just how wicked and vile I have been in the sight of God.

This realization of their sinfulness led Isaiah to cry out in Isaiah 64:6: “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags…” After receiving a glimpse of the Glory of God, Isaiah then understood his utter helplessness apart for God and he cried out in Isaiah 6:1, “In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.” Isaiah 6:3, “And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.” Isaiah 6:5: reveals Isaiah’s response, “Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.”

This realization of God’s Holiness and our own utter sinfulness should lead us to call out to God for the forgiveness of our sins so God may justify us and allow us to enter into His Heaven. God’s PROMISE to EVERY person is found in Romans 10:13: “For WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Will You Call Upon Jesus Christ For The Forgiveness Of Your Sins Now?

Eight Lies of My Mother

Eight Lies of My Mother

Crying Mother

The story began when I was a child; I was a son of a poor family. We did not even have enough food. When ever meal times came, mother would often give me her portion of rice. While she was removing her rice into my bowl, she would say “Eat this rice, son. I’m not hungry.”     That was Mother’s First Lie.

When I was growing up, my persevering mother gave her spare time to go fishing in a river near our house, she hoped that from the fish she caught, she could give me a little bit of nutritious food for my growth. After fishing, she would cook some fresh fish soup, which raised my appetite. While I was eating the soup, mother would sit beside me and eat the rest of the fish, which was still on the bone of the fish I had eaten. My heart was touched when I saw that. I then used my fork and gave the other fish to her. But she immediately refused and said “Eat this fish, son. I don’t really like fish.”     That was Mother’s Second Lie.

Then, when I was in Junior High School…… to fund my studies, mother went to an economic enterprise to bring some used-match boxes that would need to be stuck together. It gave her some money to cover our needs. As the winter came, I woke up from my sleep and looked at my mother who was still awake, supported by a little candlelight and with perseverance she would continue the work of sticking some used-match boxes. I said, “Mother, go to sleep, it’s late, tomorrow morning you still have to go to work. Mother smiled and said “Go to sleep, dear. I’m not tired.”    That was Mother’s Third Lie.

The final term arrived….. ..Mother asked for leave from work in order to accompany me. While the sun was starting to shine strongly, my persevering mother waited for me under the heat for several hours. As the bell rang, which indicated that the final exam had finished, mother immediately welcomed me and poured me a cup of tea that she had brought in a flask. Seeing my mother covered with perspiration, I at once gave her my cup and asked her to drink too. Mother said “Drink, son. I’m not thirsty!”  That was Mother’s Fourth Lie.

After the death of my father due to illness, my poor mother had to play her role as a single parent. She had to fund our needs alone. Our family’s life was more complicated. No days without suffering. Our family’s condition was getting worse, a kind uncle who lived near our house assisted now and then. Our neighbors often advised my mother to marry again. But mother was stubborn and didn’t take their advice; she said “I don’t need love.” That was Mother’s Fifth Lie.

After I had finished my studies and got a job, it was the time for my old mother to retire. But she didn’t want to; she would go to the market place every morning, just to sell some vegetables to fulfill her needs. I, who worked in another city, often sent her some money to help her, in fulfilling her needs, but she would not accept the money. At times, she even sent the money back to me. She said “I have enough money.”   That was Mother’s Sixth Lie.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree, I then continued to do a Master’s Degree. It was funded by a company through a scholarship program. I finally worked in the company. With a good salary, I intended to bring my mother to enjoy her life in Gulf. But my lovely mother didn’t want to bother her son. She said to me, “I’m not use to.”  That was Mother’s Seventh Lie.

In her old age, mother got stomach cancer and had to be hospitalized. I, who lived miles away, across the ocean, went home to visit my dearest mother. She lay in weakness on her bed after having an operation. Mother, who looked so old, was staring at me in deep thought. She tried to spread her smile on her face…but it was a noticeable effort. It was clear that the disease had weakened mother’s body. She looked so frail and weak. I stared at my mother with tears flowing. My heart was hurt,… so hurt, seeing my mother in that condition. But mother with the little strength she had, said “Don’t cry, my dear. I’m not in pain.”   That was Mother’s Eighth and Last Lie.

After saying her eighth lie, my Dearest mother closed her eyes forever .      – Unknown

This story was NOT written by me, just copied, because I think this lady represents thousands of Mothers and Fathers across this world.

We must do our part to help them. JKM, Jim Kilgore Ministries is beginning a feeding ministry in Pakistan as I share this story with you. While JKM fed many people last Saturday, my heart was broken because we did not have enough money to feed those that came to hear the Preaching of the Gospel. I desire to start some in the Philippines and in India at the present time.

We will do this in association with evangelizing, Church-Planting and helping to sustain life as Jesus Christ DID while on earth. Can you and I do any less? If you wish to help feed, please visit our website at: http://www.JimKilgoreMinistries.com and click on the Contribution’s page.

Have You Lost Your Purpose?

Have You Lost Your Purpose?        I Samuel 17

focus1

What are you truly passionate about?  What makes you want to get up out of bed every morning?   What, at the mere thought of it, incites you to action?   In other words, “What is your purpose in life?”

Many people have a position, perhaps as a Pastor, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Director, or as the CEO of a Company.  Even though they possess a position, they might admit they have lost their passion for this position.

The mistake often made is when a person Possesses a Position without a Purpose, this will lead to a spirit of Complacency.   Time is far too short to allow Complacency to enter into our lives and ministry. In I Samuel 17:29 we see where David had a cause.  His cause was to defeat the giant Goliath because he was mocking God and God’s people.      Again I ask you,  “What is your Purpose?  What is it that drives you each day?” What are you truly focused on?

More specifically, what is your purpose in being a Leader?  Hopefully, it is to Influence others Biblically and to Impact this world for Jesus Christ.   Why do you want to help people?  Finally ask yourself this question, “What is the contribution that you want to make in your lifetime?” No matter what your age, or what position you are in your life, you will never finish contributing. A truly great leader is someone who is always seeking to do more for God and to impact this world for Jesus Christ!.

Is your Purpose Being Pursued with Passion?

When you find a Purpose that is Bigger than anything you ever dreamed of, and Pursue it with Passion, it’s amazing how the supernatural can become the normal.  God wants Men and Women of Purpose, Passion, and Power to Pursue the Phenomenal for Him!

Will you ask God to Provide the Passion you once had?   You Can Do Something truly Significant for God IF you will believe in God’s ability to work though you for His glory!

Pastor, Missionary, Evangelist, when you answered God’s call to preach, what did you one day hope to accomplish for the Cause of Christ? What was your over-riding purpose?  Are you closer to the achievement of this cause?  Has your passion for this cause grown over the years?  Has it intensified?

Or, has something sidetracked you and made this cause appear to be too complicated for you to pursue anymore?   Listen, “Don’t let your Dream Die!  Get back into the battle and get busy for God once again.    Don’t listen to those who have discouraged you from pursuing God’s Dream for your life.  I am glad that Samson did not listen to that inner voice that said, “You have sinned, you can no longer serve God.”

The Bible clearly teaches that we all have much usefulness in us. We are important to God!   Therefore, get on your knees, accept God’s forgiveness, and ask God to use you for Him once again.   Listen to those who are encouraging you to do more for God rather than those who says, “You have blown it; God will never use you again; it is all over for you.”  John 8:44 reminds us Satan is a liar and the Father of it.  Will you believe God or will you continue to believe Satan?

I thank God that Samson, even with the scars of sin so evident, was able to be used of God in a great way before he died.   I am glad that John-Mark, who once quit on God, repented of his sin and was able to become most profitable to God and more specifically, the Apostle Paul.  Paul asked for John-Mark to come to him prior to his death.   God was still using John-Mark.

Every Person in the Bible had Failed God

Show me one person in Bible that did not fail God at some point in their lives; yet God was able to use them after thoroughly getting right with God.   Adam and failed God through their disobedience; Abraham failed in his lack of faith and disobedience;  Moses murdered a man;  David committed adultery and even set up the woman’s husband to be killed in battle;  Peter failed Jesus by denying Him three times in one evening.  Yet they were all used of God after they returned to God and accepted God’s grace and forgiveness.    I am not glorifying sin, but I am demonstrating the grace of God in the lives of people that have failed.  Perhaps we failed in our walk with God; perhaps failed financially; perhaps in a new endeavor. Yet we can may still be able to accomplish great things for God.

Failing is Reversible!

To use an old saying from our friends in Texas, “It does not matter how much milk you spill as long as you don’t lose the cow.”  Once again, failings are not irreversible.  Keep things in perspective; learn from them; and use them to help other people.

I believe that you Can and Must move forward on the heels of Adversity and Failing.    I have asked myself the following questions to assist me in moving forward when things did not go as planned:

A)    God, what are you trying to teach me through this situation?  What wrong assumptions did I make?   What “Blind-spots” are you revealing to me?

B)     God, how can I use my mistakes/sins to help other people?

C)    God, are you opening a new door of ministry for me through this failing

Listen, you must quit allowing your past to hold you hostage today!

I greatly desire to add value to other people.   I have lived my life trying to see other people ‘with the ability to become’!   I strongly believe there is something useful in EVERY person, no matter what their past or present is like, God can still use them!   I believe it is our responsibility to encourage and to provide Biblical Hope to others.

I personally believe that the greatest difference between those who remain Average and those that Achieve great things in life, will be determined in part, by each individual’s perception and response to failings.    You can look at the failing as an end to your calling and dreams, or, you can choose to use those failings to increase your ability to succeed for the cause of Jesus Christ!

Will YOU choose to Accept life as a Hostage to your failings, or will YOU choose to Answer the above questions that will focus on Your Future, rather than your Past!  The Choice Really is Yours!

My New Year’s Desire For The World

This is my dear and treasured  Friend, Pastor Jonathan Aparre from Bohol, Philippines.   As you read my “testimony” today, I want you to see the people that  I see when I visit Countries, as an Ambassador of Jesus Christ.  Look at his smile!   Look into his eyes and see the joy of Jesus Christ that he has!  Feel the love that exudes from this godly man!   He was one of hundreds just like this!

Image

In less than three weeks my ministry will lead me to spread the Gospel in two North west African nations.   I have many Friends from Benin and Nigeria.  I will be honored to preach the wedding service of a godly young man from Nigeria,  Abraham Adeyemi.    Look into this man’s eyes and notice the love of Jesus that is written all over his face.

Image

How can we remain with yet another year of prejudice?  Of fighting, and killing, and war?    How can we NOT support missions?  What if Missionaries would NOT had been able to take the Gospel to Countries just like these?

I have been thinking a lot about my family and my Facebook family the last few days, more so than usual. Just thinking about the friends that I have in my life, people that I honestly, sincerely feel, that we are good friends on 6 of the 7 continents, in well over 70  countries.

The thought that continues to strike me is that IF everyone in the world were  like  my Facebook friends, every war would be over;  people would truly be looking to meet the needs of one another countries and families;  they would do away with the racial prejudices that so many countries have of another country. God and I have no time for Prejudice!   I have been to many countries in my lifetime, and do you know what I have discovered?.

My Personal Discovery as an Ambassador for Jesus Christ

Every Family that I have ever met, loves their family,  just as much as I love mine.   Every family has accepted me as part of their family. No racial barriers, no feeling of superiority, just complete acceptance and Christian love..

I have even found in each country visited, that I have been treated with complete respect, even among non Christians..

I am fully aware that in every country, including my own, that we have some that do not behave like this towards people from other countries.  This of course breaks my heart and must certainly grieve the heart of God.    Why?  Because God created man!  Why? Because God loves Every Person from EVERY Country and Tribe in this world.

The Love of God IS the Difference-Maker

God loves you dear Pakistani person! God loves you in Australia!   God loves you that has experienced so many issues from the natural disasters my precious Filipino Friends!   God loves my Friends in Germany!   God has not forgotten about you, my Friends in Cambodia and Vietnam!  God loves you Zimbabwe!  God loves you Benin and Nigeria!  God loves you Ethiopia!   India, you the second largest Country in the world, God loves you!  China and Indonesia, the Largest and fourth largest Countries in the entire world, God loves you to!  America, the third largest Country in the world, God loves you!

Yes,  God loves You! He loves each Country so much that He robbed Heaven of it’s brightest jewel when He sent His precious Son, Jesus Christ into this world of woe, and sin, and hopelessness,  in order that Jesus would become sin for EACH of us (Hebrews 2:9; John 3:16; and I Timothy 1:15), and shed His Blood as the ONLY payment for our sin!

During the past four weeks,  I have been privileged to see Jesus Christ, take the Word of God which I had the privilege of sharing and He has saved hundreds of Filipinos; God forgave a lady by the name of Shamsa, in Pakistan,  that has in less than 4 weeks, taken the Gospel to MANY Pakistani People.  Look into her sweet face as she is teaching how to be saved, from the Facebook notes I used while winning her to the Lord.    Sharing the Love and Compassion of Jesus Christ IS making a difference!!

Image

He allowed me the honor of winning a lady from Bangalore, India to accept Jesus Christ as her Savior.  Yes,  I KNOW that God loves the World!

Yes,  I have even been so blessed as to be adopted as a father and  as a grandfather of people on several continents..

I’m thinking about the Christmas gift given to me by my international friends. You had  given my present throughout the year.  You have given me your love, your respect, your friendship, and in some cases, you even made me a part of your treasured family. What more good I hope to have for Christmas than these things?

I am so thankful for each of you. Many people I have not met face to face, yet I KNOW of your character through your comments on Facebook and through our Skype planning meetings.

My New Years wish for our world is that the world would  treat all Countries, all tribes, and People in the way that you and I have chosen to treat one another.  My great desire is that Churches would increase missionary support to get God-called Families into all Countries to spread the Gospel, which has the POWER to change lives; remove prejudice, eradicate the hatred Countries have for one another.

I am tired of war, of terrorism, of prejudice,  Our blood is ALL the same color.  Each Countries People have a heart.  Let us choose to use our hearts this year for more than just pumping our blood.   Let’s use our hearts to live for others, for in so doing we will fulfill the main law of Christ, which is to love one another (All Countries) EVEN AS Jesus hath loved us!  I love you very much and I value your friendship.

What do you think?  Can we not All commit to this?  I’d love to hear from you from all over the World!

Let us CHOOSE to become a Difference-Maker during 2014 for the Cause of Jesus Christ!

My Life’s verse I Corinthians 7:29:  Brethren, the Time IS Short.”  Let us therefore do ALL that we can While we can!

Principles of Pastoring (Principles 7,8)

Pastors heart 2

Written by:  Jim Kilgore, Missionary Evangelist / Church-Planter

People want a Pastor.  Throughout their time in your Church, they will NEED a Pastor, several times in fact.   Will you be there for your People when they need you?  People will need their Pastor to call them at times to rejoice with them, or at times to pray with them over a tragedy in their lives.  Sometimes just a letter such as I received from Dr. Jack Hyles, who many years earlier, while my first wife was suffering with cancer, wrote me a note just to say that he loved us and had been praying with us during this season of life.  My how that letter, which I still carry in my Bible meant to my wife and I.

To be a Pastor that communicates the love and warmth to your people, you will need the following two principles

     The Seventh Principle of Pastoring

Walk with God!    I have learned over the years that if I must guard my walk with God.  NOTHING must take the place of my personal time with God.   I am busy, very busy.   I fill my schedule with work that normally lasts 16 – 20 hours a day.  Many of you do the same.  But we must never crowd Jesus Christ out of our schedules.  Again, if you Walk with God, you will never Stumble before Man.

Then, on Sunday morning, I cannot wait to share what God and I had discussed during the other six days of the week!

    The Eighth Principle of Pastoring

The next principle is closely associated with the sixth principle:  Create your own  “Personal Growth Plan,”  (PGP)”  Do you have a plan to continually grow as a Preacher, as a Christian?   Every single person I have asked this question to has frankly admitted that they did not have a personal growth plan  (PGP).

·         Most people I surveyed had read their Bibles; many had spent some time in daily prayer; some were even memorizing Scripture.  Yet nothing was strategically planned.  By this I mean, nothing which would lead them to a certain, specific result after three months, six months, a year into the future, or even in five years.

·         There was no specific plan to overcome habits; no plan to create new positive ones.  I have learned, that most simply do not have a plan for growth in their lives which would place them in the best possible position to be used more effectively for God.  Preachers, we must have one ourselves and then teach our people how to develop a growth plan as well.

·         We all know that “If we want something, then we must do something.”  You see, Failure just Happens; but Success is Planned.  Success comes as a result of doing several things on purpose.

·         If you go after the growth that you need, you could spend the rest of your life settling for what you have become.  The question is, will “settling” provide you with the new skills necessary to lead you to the top of your mountain?

If you need help with a sample Growth plan,  please email me at: JimKilgoreMinistries@gmail.com, and request the FREE personal Growth Plan that I have now used for years, I will gladly send it to your email with-in 24 hours.

This is a must for any pastor of any sized Church to keep him focused on growing as a Christian and as a Pastor.

Encouragement: Everyone Needs It!

wpid-0.jpg

Encouragement.    This week, I have spent much more time in prayer for some people who have burdens which appear be weigh in at a thousand pounds.     Each one I am praying WITH is a praying Christian.      It is not that they are incapable of praying on their own, it is just that they needed the support of these that really care about THEM.    Galatians 6:2 reminds us that we are to “Bear one another’s Burdens.”  My next article will deal with this subject.

I Samuel 30:1-6: In I Samuel chapter 30 we read where David was hurt and his hurt ran to the very depths of his soul.   What caused his grief? The Amalekites, which were the enemy of Israel, had invaded Ziklag, defeated the Israelites, and set the city on fire. As the city was burning, the Amalekites took each of the women and children into captivity.
Following these dreadful events, David and his men arrived at Ziklag only to see the fire burning their homes, and then to discover that each of their women and children were now in enemy hands.
Every man was so overcome with grief  that verse four informs us that  “David and his men wept until they had no more power to weep”.

The unimaginable and inexplicable had actually happened.

Yet notice verse six.  David’s grief goes to another level. Why? Because his soldiers were now blaming him for their loss.  The crowd was seriously considering the stoning of David.

I have often wondered how this would help their situation at all. There was no word of anyone killed. So there was hope of recovering their families. Therefore, they needed David to lead them in battle to reclaim their families.

I had decided years ago, that I would not allow my hurt to hurt anyone else! I mean, hasn’t there been enough hurt distributed already?  How will my hurt, heaped upon the shoulders of another do anything to help?   It simply adds more weight to the extreme load they are currently carrying.

Lessons to Learn About Providing Hope and Encouragement

  1. Everyone Person Requires Hope!  Therefore,, as a Leader, we must become “Dealers in Hope.”  Are you aware that even a Pastor, on occasion, will need Encouragement & HOPE!
They need to know there is going to be a better tomorrow! A word of encouragement from a friend, or one that is greatly
  2. The best way in which I provide encouragement to those who are discouraged is to Remind them of God’s Promises.
  •      I love to remind people that God STILL loves them. God said in Jeremiah 31:3: I have loved thee with an everlasting love.”  This simply means that there is no circumstance that would cause YOUR Heavenly Father to withdrawal His love from you. His love is everlasting!  God does NOT withdrawal His love from us, as we all to frequently do another, especially when there is sin involved.  Rather than trying to Biblically Restore the Brother or Sister, we ostracize them.  We criticize, back-bite, and literally withhold any offer of God’s forgiveness and grace.
  •        I love to remind people of how much God cares about them! Peter reminds us of God’s “personal interest” in us as he penned these words, divinely inspired by God Himself, “Casting ALL your care upon Him, (why) for He (God) careth for (who) YOU.” I Peter 5:7.  Dear Reader, God not only loves you, but He cares deeply about the things which you are going through. This is why God has invited YOU to cast (to toss or to throw) ALL of your cares, concerns, fears, hurts, loneliness, upon Him. But why should you? Because God careth for YOU!!
    •    I love to remind people that God has sent a personal invitation for each Believer to come boldly into His throne of Grace. Hebrews 4: 16 says: “Let us therefore come boldly (confidently) unto the throne of grace, (why should we) that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
I love to remind people that God is Omnipotent, which means that our God is All-Powerful. There is nothing too hard for our God to do on our behalf!! Matthew 19:26 states, “But Jesus beheld (means to turn one’s eyes upon to look at) them (you) and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God ALL things are possible.” The question was raised in Genesis 18:14, and again in Jeremiah 32:27 the following: “Is there anything too hard for the Lord? Jeremiah 32:17 provides us with the answer to this crucial question, “Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is NOTHING too hard for thee.
Aren’t you grateful to share in the promises which God has made to those of us who are Believers
Thank God for His promises which become a soft pillow for the troubled heart.
Whom do you know that needs your encouragement today? Will you help encourage them in the Lord today?

Will you commit to focus more on “Being a Friend, than in Having a friend? It will become a life-changing decision for you. There are so many hurting hearts in this world.

Unforgiveness: Releasing Your Resentment

   wpid-2013-03-04-14-07-08-2082969431.jpeg

By Jim Kilgore, Missionary Evangelist

There he is.  “He makes me sick,” he thought to himself.  I never want to see or speak to that man again!

Is there someone in your life that “gets under your skin?”   Does the mere mention of their name produce a stabbing pain in your stomach?  Has this person hurt you beyond what you believe is your ability to forgive?  If so, this discussion is for.  I write to “Add Value” to my readers and I want to reassure you, that you can be released from the resentment which currently exists in your heart.

Biblical Forgiveness is the only successful method for handling unrighteous anger

Unless we are willing to release the people who have wronged us, bitterness and resentment will take up residence in our lives. Through the act of forgiveness, we can learn to let go of anger and find the freedom God desires for each of His children to possess.

Understandably, it is not easy to forgive the one whose arrow has pierced your heart.   Yet when  Christians refuses to deal Biblically with the hurt, the hurt becomes a weapon against us.   It dramatically affects us in ways we may not yet understand.

It affects your relationship with the one who has hurt you; it will most definitely affect your personal relationship with Jesus Christ; and it will have a definite impact on yourself.   There is no winner when Christians choose not to handle the hurt Biblically.

How are we to treat People that has hurt us?

1.   We are to practice Biblical forbearance.   Ephesians 4:2: “With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.”

What does forbearance really mean   Forbearance is “lovingly putting up with the faults of another.”   It is a gentle spirit.  It means that I do not feel the need to challenge another’s actions or even motives as it relates to me.      It is allowing  “love to cover a multitude of sins” as commanded in I Peter.

We must learn to allow our Family and Friends to have an occasional bad day without confronting every situation.   We often, without realizing it, “Place our loved ones on Trial every day.”  We sub-consciously force them to achieve a 100% in order to get an A on the test.   This is an unrealistic standard.   Only Jesus Christ is perfect.

Colossians 3:13 “ Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”

2.   We are to live our the four commands Jesus taught in His “Sermon on the Mount“.  Jesus was speaking about the actions a Christian must take when dealing with those who have been hurt.  Matthew 5:44: ” But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”

  • We are to demonstrate Biblical love to those that have hurt us.  You must decide the specific ways in which you can demonstrate the sacrificial love which our Lord continually demonstrated to those who hurt Him.
  • We are to bless those hurters of our souls.  The word bless carries the idea of “speaking well of another.”   Yes, this is what Jesus is telling us to do.  What?  Are you serious?  Are you kidding me”, you may be wondering.   I said God’s way WILL work;  I did not say that God’s way would be easy.   They may be critical of you;  perhaps they shared gossip about you;  they may be attempting to ruin you.  Yet Jesus said that we are to exchange hatred for love;  criticism for compliments.  Isaiah was 100% correct when he said: “God’s thought are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways.
  • After speaking well of our critic, we are now to do good unto them.   We are told to do something tangible to help the very one that is trying to destroy you!    Yes, this is what Jesus taught and expects from us.   Romans 5:8 reminds me how Jesus practiced this principle to me.  “But God commendeth (proved, demonstrated) His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”   He did the same for you as well.   We who are the recipients of God’s love, grace, and mercy, how can we do anything but follow the example and extend it to others?
  • We are now required to pray for our offender.     I know what you are thinking right now.  I will pray for God to dealing harshly with them.   I have thought those thoughts myself.  How did Jesus pray for His persecutors?   Luke reveals this to us as Jesus is hanging on the cross:       “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”

A Christian cannot expect our Father to forgive us while holding an unforgiving spirit.   Matthew 6:14: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”

A FORGIVEN PEOPLE IS TO BE A FORGIVING PEOPLE

To Whom will you practice this lesson with starting today?

God’s Call to a Missionary: The Process God Used with Me

Praying

In December of 2012 God called me to leave my comfort zone and to focus on winning Souls on Every Continent to Jesus Christ. Let me share my story with you.

It all started in early December, 2012 as I was praying for God to lay specific areas of focus upon my heart. I had been praying frequently during a two day period during which time God specifically spoke to my heart about a Global Ministry. I am ashamed, but I laughed out loud, almost uncontrollably. Who was I to engage and embark upon such a massive task?
Yet after the two days of “wrestling with God” concerning this matter, I yielded to His will. I asked God to verify His call through Scripture, as He has always confirmed His leading through the Word of God. L

Listed below are the Scriptures God placed in my mind:

•  Matthew 19:26: “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”

•  Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

•  John 15:5: “…. for without me ye can do nothing.”

•  Ephesians 3:20: “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

I Corinthians 7:29: “But this I say, brethren, the Time IS Short…”

The first four verses confirmed that it was not “my ministry”, but God’s ministry!  Through these verses God reminded me that I Can’t, but God CAN!”  After this surrender and understanding of God’s call and leading, I began asking Him to open my eyes to understand His plan for the final quarter of my

To the best of my ability, I will share in a greater detail my understanding of JKM

1.   It all started with Prayer. “Father, what wilt Thou have me to Accomplish and to Achieve for You this year. Too much time has been spent on earthly pursuits and selfish ambitions. Please direct me to Your plan.”

2.   As I was in fervent prayer, a Spiritual Problem was presented to me. The problem was that well over 90% of the world was without Jesus Christ. There remains BILLIONS without the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Another problem God presented to my during this time was that each time my heart would beat, two souls would slip off into eternity.   Then the Holy Spirit brought yet three more Scriptures to my mind concerning this grave problem as found in Matthew 9:36-38: “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. This WAS a most serious spiritual problem.

3.   After agonizing over this spiritual problem, I soon began to see the Path which was the direction from God, beginning to open my eyes of understanding to His will.

4.   As I began to see a bit more clearly what God had in store, this path created a Spiritual Passion with-in my soul.    I Corinthians 7:29: “But this I say, brethren, the Time IS Short…” I knew that at age 58 my time was limited. If I live to be 70, I now have 11 years left. I had already lived and traveled through the first three quarters of my life. Then I began begging God to allow me to accomplish more for Him during the final quarter of my life than in the first three quarters combined! Therefore, my life began to change. I now live each day as though it were my last. I must work; I must win souls; I must start Churches all over the World; I must be willing to go wherever the light is the darkest and show all nations the Light of the World, which of course is Jesus Christ! The burning in my soul has created a passion to start Churches all over the World. I have asked my Father to plant at least one Church in EVERY Continent!

5.      The passion has led me to a Clear Purpose of God’s plan.    It is God’s will that ALL men should Repent of their sins and Receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. Jesus became man’s Substitute and Shed His precious and perfect Blood as payment for EVERY MAN’S sins!

6.      God’s purpose has led to a continual unfolding of the establishment of Processes    which will allow me to accomplish God’s plan.

7.     The processes lead to a daily Prioritization.     With each day’s activities I focus on those areas of activities which will lead to the accomplishment of God’s will!

As I close this lengthy article on my Missionary call,  I am going to make two simple requests of you.  One is for Fervent Prayer while the other is a Financial Plea.         Now that I have literally poured out my soul to the world, I shall share the next step in walking down God’s path for me.   Earlier I said I shared that “I can’t but that God can.”    Now I come to the role which You can play in literally reaching the World for Jesus Christ

      a.      My Prayer is that God would raise up hundreds of Christians which are committed to a    Fervency in prayer, and specifically for this ministry.     Remember John 15:5?    I believe this with all of my heart.

      b.       My Plea is for that of Financial Support.   This plea is not really for myself, but for the ministry of reaching lost souls for Jesus Christ!

JKM has the responsibility of raising money to  purchase flight tickets;  needs of just two meals a day; lodging arrangements while on the field.       I work day and night on the field.   I am truly about my Father’s business of soul-winning; Teaching Pastors;   Preaching nearly every day.

I would make my Plea for you to pray with me about INVESTING in JKM as we are focused on reaching all parts of the World with the Gospel.     Remember I Corinthians 7:29 saysBut this I say, brethren, the Time IS Short…”

Therefore I must do ALL that I can WHILE I can!
