THE  GLORIOUS  GRACE  OF  GOD

https://www.facebook.com/JimKilgoreMinistries

Luke 23; 42, 43: And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

We once again return to Calvary. Calvary, the most sacred and significant place in the world. Calvary is the place where Jesus Died that you might Live. Calvary is the place where we see Man at his Worst while seeing God at His Best. Calvary, where the royal, rich, and red blood of our Sinless Saviour was shed so that wicked, vile sinners could make peace with God through His Son Jesus Christ.   Calvary, the place where the Angels in heaven wept while the Demons in hell were rejoicing.

Let us remember the first words of Jesus while hanging upon Calvary’s cross. We strained to listen as Jesus prayed for those that had just clamored for His crucifixion; then they placed the crown of thorns upon His head, and drove the thorns deep into His scalp.

Listen as the Son of God prays for those that spit upon Him; He prayed for those that had pummeled their fists into His face; He prayed for the one that thrust the spear into His side. In Luke 23:34: Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do …”

As the crowd stood gazing upon the One they had wanted to hang and suffer on the Cross, they stood beholding the excruciating pain of God’s only Son (Luke 23: 35). They had now started the mocking, the ridicule, the gambling for His clothing, the taunting to save Himself.   But this was NOT in plan of our Gracious God.

Finally the crowd heard a small conversation taking place between all three that were hanging on the cross. What were they saying? Each wanted to get closer to hear this monumental conversation that would have eternal consequences for both men on either side of Jesus (Luke 23: 39-43).

These words speak loudly and unmistakably of the Glorious Grace of God. Neither man had a right to ask Jesus to forgive them. They were both guilty, condemned men. They were convicted thieves.   Yet, God in His grace listened to each man and responded accordingly to each one.

The Clearest Picture Of Salvation By Grace In The Entire Bible

Grace is the unmerited, and the unmeritable favor of God. Grace is God NOT giving to man that which he deserves. If you and I received that which we deserve, we would all be burning and suffering in hell this very minute.   No, these men did NOT deserve God to even listen to them, let alone answer their prayers.

An Example Of God’s Grace

When a person works an eight-hour day and receives a fair day’s pay for his time, that is a wage.   When a person competes with an opponent and receive s a trophy for winning, that is a prize. When a person receives appropriate recognition for his long service or high achievements and good performance, that is an award.

But when a person is not capable of earning a wage, can win no prize, and deserves no award, yet receives such a gift anyway, it is a good picture of God’s unmerited favor. This is what we mean when we speak of the Grace of God.

Throughout His ministry, Jesus had been “the Friend of Sinners” (Matthew 11:19). His antagonists derided Jesus for this. They mocked Jesus by saying, Since Jesus loves sinners so much, and they were His companions in life, we will give Him the privilege of dying with them. Little did they realize that Jesus was actually dying FOR them and not merely WITH them (II Corinthians 5:21).

Let Us See What Each Person Represented While Hanging On The Cross

  • We see one man dying IN his sin; one man dying OUT of his sin, and of course Jesus dying FOR sin.
  • We witness one man Scoffing Jesus; another man Seeking Jesus; and Jesus Sacrificing Himself as the ONLY sacrifice for sin His Father would accept.
  • We witness one man making a decision to go to Hell; the other man making his decision to go to Heaven; whereas Jesus is providing the only HOPE that any will have in gaining entrance into Heaven.

Placing Your Faith in Jesus Christ is Your ONLY Hope of Going to Heaven

One man went to heaven because he placed his faith Completely in Jesus Christ.   He finally understood the truth found in John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”   This man did not deserve to go to heaven any more than you and I do, but he made the correct decision. He placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his only hope of going to Heaven.

While in India in May of 2014, I realized just how big idol worship was in this great land. There are over 330 million false gods various people worship.   Yet, 1,287 came to Jesus Christ during this missionary journey, understanding that Jesus Christ is the ONLY name whereby men MUST be saved (Acts 4:12).  What made the difference? Simply preaching and presenting Jesus Christ, and His atonement for man’s sins.

Jesus Christ Wants EVERYONE To Go To Heaven

Now there were two sinners hanging beside Jesus while He was paying for the sins of the world (John 1:29). As joyful as Jesus was in one responding to His sacrificial work on the Cross, He was just as broken for the one that literally saw what the Son of God was doing for all people, yet chose to reject the Work of Christ.

I Timothy 2:4 reminds us that God wants YOU to be saved and go to heaven. “Who will have all men to be saved , and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” I Timothy 2:6 teaches us, “Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”

There is no one that Jesus will not forgive and thereby save and take to Heaven. I Timothy 1:15: This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Here What The Repentant Sinner Understood And What He Did To Go To Heaven

  1. He understood his Condition  He knew that he was a sinner. He knew that he deserved his punishment, both in this life, and the life to come.   He knew that he deserved hell. Romans 3:10 reminds us that that: “There is NONE righteous, no not one.” Romans 3:23 is clear about the spiritual condition of us all when Paul declared that we have ALL sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

  1. He understood God’s Provision. He finally grasped that Jesus Christ was doing, not only for him, but for any and all that might call upon Him in faith. Luke 23:41: And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds : but this man hath done nothing.” God’s PROMISE is found in Romans 10:13: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord SHALL BE SAVED”! This is a promise from God.

  1. He understood that HE must make his Decision  It was his decision to call upon Jesus Christ. It was His decision to place his complete faith in Jesus and Jesus alone.  It was HIS decision to ask Jesus to save him.  II Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

In light of this, what was the response of Jesus towards this sinner calling upon Jesus for salvation? Luke 23:42, 43, And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” Jesus promised to take him to heaven.

The same promise by Jesus is offered to you as well. Romans 10:13 is a promise from God to you, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord SHALL BE SAVED.”

Untold Billions REMAIN Untold: A Case For Global Evangelism!

Untold Billions REMAIN Untold: A Case of Global Evangelism!

The unreached are dying without ever hearing the good news! Why? Romans 10 provides the Biblical basis for our vast failure. Romans 10:12-15: “For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard, and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach , except they be sent as it is written , How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

Consider the Following Facts About Missions

The facts I am quoting come from a great missionary Book, written by my friend, Jon Nelms. The book is titled: “The Great Omission.”   He says on pages 53 and 54 the following: “This planet, at least in missionary terms, has been divided into what is called “The Three Worlds”: World A, World B, and you guessed it–World C. Allow me to define them:

World A

• The truly “unreached world” of people who have never even heard the name of Jesus.
• Percentage of the global population: 28 percent.
• Percentage of missionaries targeting World A: 2.5 percent.

World B

• The “unevangelized world” of people who have limited access to the Gospel but are not yet considered Christian nations. The Gospel has penetrated their borders but has not reached the majority of the people. Given time, the majority of the people will be reached—perhaps within two or three generations.
• Percentage of the global population: 39 percent.
• Percentage of missionaries targeting World B 17.5 percent.

World C

• The “evangelized world” of people who have full and unrestricted access to the Gospel, regardless of whether or not they choose to hear or accept it.
• Percentage of the global population: 33 percent.
• Percentage of missionaries targeting World C: 80 percent.”

Does God still love the Lost? Has He changed or abandoned His plan for Global Evangelism? These are obviously rhetorical questions. God loves the World and every single person in it. He desires that all might hear the truth of the Gospel. God desires that EVERY person know that there is only one way to Heaven, and this way is ONLY through His Son, Jesus Christ. John 14:6: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Acts 4:12 likewise makes this very clear, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved .”

Amazing Statistics Showing the Trail of Those Trying To Get To the Field

The last 15 years has revealed a 50% reduction in Americans ENTERING the mission force. “Of those who answered the call, 43% NEVER completed fund-raising “deputation.” WHY? There are many “Reasons.” Sometimes the Missionary grows frustrated and discouraged by what they face while on deputation. 75% of those who made it to the field came home within three years, and only 17 of every 100 who began the process, actually arrived and remained,” Gil Anger, Researcher. This of course greatly concerns me.

Yet, the latest estimates suggest that approximately 7,000 people groups are considered unreached. That means over 43% of the world’s people groups have no indigenous community of believing Christians able to evangelize the rest of their people group. Over 41% of the world’s population live in these over 7,000 people groups.

It is important to note that this does not mean every individual within an unreached people group has never heard of Jesus or understood the message of salvation. There is often a small percentage (less than 2%) Christ-followers in these groups, but the vast majority of the group has minimal, if any, exposure to the person of Jesus Christ and the Good News of God’s free gift of salvation.

In spite of lots of excitement about large numbers coming to Christ around the world, the fact is that 25% of the world which historically has had little or no contact with the gospel, (made up of mostly Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists) has not changed, and is not anticipated to change, unless something changes in the way we do things. The reasons for this are numerous, but the following statistics surely have something to do with it:

• “Only 2-4% of Christian Missionaries go to serve the 2 billion least reached”
• “Of foreign mission funding: 87% goes for work among those already Christian, 12% for work among already evangelized, but Non-Christian, 1% for work among the unevangelized and *unreached people. (Baxter 2007, 12).

Why Are So Few God-Called Missionaries, Actually Getting To the Field?

The easy answer is that they were probably never called in the first place. Or, that it “must not” had REALLY been “God’s will” for the Missionary to go in the first place. Really? Are we truly serious by accepting these shallow explanations? Let me share some of the “reality” that faces the average missionary trying his best to get to the place of God’s calling.

Missionaries often face an avalanche of non-returned phone calls while seeking to introduce themselves, and their ministry. Of the relatively small amount of those reached, there is an overwhelming number of church leadership that will immediately say, “Brother, I would love to help you, but the economy is tight and we just cannot take on any more missionaries.” A Missionary simply wants the opportunity to come and share God’s calling for their life.

Our ministry is a Global ministry in which we travel all over the world, evangelizing, and we then start Churches from those saved. Last year God graciously allowed us to also help start two Bible Colleges as well. I can truly say, that without generous support, and those that are giving financially each month that this type of ministry would not be possible. God knows how to bring people together to accomplish HIS ministry.

I thank God that He has provided different Churches and Families that have helped me get to the field to win souls. They have come from the most unexpected sources. Three Families from Indiana and Georgia have purchased flight tickets and most, if not all the expenses of the Missionary Journeys. At other times, Sunday School classes from our sending church have raised money. We have a few different individuals that faithfully give each month, as well as three Churches. At other times, a one-time gift that was exactly what we needed was given to make the difference. We have even had three Facebook friends faithfully assist our ministry as they are able. Truly I can say as one great missionary once said, “God’s work, done in God’s way, will not lack supply.”

Missionaries are so varied in their looks, schooling, and church size they are coming from. Even their personalities are diverse. Some are shy and introverted, which may actually become a barrier in getting selected to share their call in a church. While others are very out-going and extroverted and may find a much easier time to receive “the invitation” to present their calling in a local church. Yet God is able to use us all for His Glory!

Yes, God uses many different personalities in missions and ministry. He used Peter that was quite the extrovert, while using Moses that had a speech impediment. He used a Jack Hyles that was often loud and highly motivating, yet he used a Jonathan Edwards that was a man that had poor eyesight and held his sermons close to his eyes as he read them. All were greatly used of God, yet we may make a decision to have or not to have a Missionary based on his personality.

No missionary I know of, is expecting a church to completely understand their exact calling, or be as ecstatic and exhilarated as they are with the call. However, they do expect each local church to give prayerful consideration of this calling, so they might present the need and their call.

The Great Commission has long become the Great Omission! Imagine the shame Hudson Taylor felt when a new Chinese convert raised the question, “how long ago did you say Jesus died??? NONE of my ancestors had ANY idea.”   This is completely unacceptable and we must ALL work together to reach the World for Jesus Christ!

We That Possess the Truth MUST Become Possessed By the Truth

Here is what the Bible teaches that we must allow our hearts and minds to become possessed with, as we strive TOGETHER to win the multitudes to Jesus Christ.

1. We must really believe that all people are sinners. Romans 3:10; 3:23.

2. We must really believe that all people deserve to die and go to hell. Romans 6:23.

3. We must really believe that Jesus Christ died in every person’s place, shed His blood as the only payment of man’s sin, died, and was buried, and three days later, Jesus rose from the grave. Hebrews 9:22, I Corinthians 15:1-4.

4. We must really believe that Jesus Christ desires every single person to hear the Gospel and come to salvation which is only through him. II Peter 3:9; I Timothy 2;4; I John 2:2.

5. We must really believe that God has called each Church and Christian to take this Gospel of Salvation and teach it to the World. Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:47; John 20:21; Acts 1:8.

6. We must really believe that if any person will come to Jesus Christ, that He will saved them and take them to Heaven. John 3:16-18; Romans 10:9-13; I Timothy 1:15.

7. We must really believe that EVERY one without Jesus Christ WILL spend eternity apart from Jesus in the Lake of Fire. Revelation 21:8; Revelation 20:14-15.

8. We must really believe that God Takes No Pleasure in The Death of the Unsaved. Ezekiel 33:11.

9. We must really believe that God will hold the Believer, as well as the Church accountable for failing in Global Missions. Romans 14:11-12; II Corinthians 5:10.

10. We must really believe that our time is short. II Corinthians 7:29. Therefore, we must do all that we can while we can for the Cause of Christ!

The Calling and Command is clear and concise: Take the Gospel to the Entire World. What reason will you use for not Giving or Going in obedience to the Commands of Jesus Christ? Yes, Untold Billions REMAIN Untold!   This is not an Option to Consider; it is an Order to be obeyed!

Will you allow the TRUTH to grip your heart this day so that it leads you to do more for Missions?  You possess the truth, but does the truth really possess you?  Until it does, the sad plight of those without the Gospel will continue to plunge into an everlasting hell.

The Mission of Jesus is to be the Mission of the Church!

How Does Justification Impact My Daily Life? (Part Two)

crying_out to God

How Does Justification Impact My Daily Life?    (Part Two)

Romans 5:1-5:  “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:  By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope:  And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”

The above verses teach us how our Relationship with God has Been Dramatically Affected because of Justification.  We were once at war with God and was considered the enemy of God.   Romans 5:10: “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.”  We were at war, but now we have peace with God.  Romans 5:1 says, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Access to God in the Old Testament

In the Old Testament, inside the tabernacle (tent of meeting), and the temple, were the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place, (also called the Holy of Holies).  This is where only the High Priest could go once a year to offer sacrifices for his sins, and also the sins of the people. When Jesus died on the cross, three of the Gospels state that the veil separating the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place was torn in two.

This indicated that direct access to the presence of God was now available for all believers. The word access only appears three times in the New Testament. It simply means introduction or entrance. Each time it is written in the Bible it is referring to Jesus and what He accomplished for believers.

Justification impacts our Daily Lives by Providing Access to God.

  • Romans 5:2: “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
  • Ephesians 2:18: “For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.”
  • Ephesians 3:12: “In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.”

The unsaved person does not have access to God, because he has no standing before God.  However, those of us  that have placed our faith in Jesus Christ, we were given admittance into the very throne room of God.  We read in Hebrews 4:16 where a gracious invitation has been extended to ALL Believers.  “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”    What a privilege and honor it is to have right of entry as one that has been saved and justified.

What Does Access To God Really Mean For the Believer?

Access means that you can approach God at any time. You now have direct access to God. You don’t have to go through anybody else in order to approach God. You don’t have to confess you sins through anybody else. You don’t have to fellowship with God through anybody else. You must simply read your Bible, talk with the Lord, and fellowship directly with him.

Access means that we can bring any and all our requests to our Heavenly Father with whom nothing is too hard for Him to do.  Matthew 19:26 teaches us of the Power of God. “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”    Jeremiah 32:27 asks a question that you and I have asked when passing through difficult times. “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?”  But the answer is given in Jeremiah 32:17, in which Jeremiah boldly proclaims, “Ah Lord GOD! Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:”

This Access to God Is INTO Grace

Romans 5:2, “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand…”  What does this mean to the Christian?  It means that our standing before God is one of the Glorious Grace of God and not as a result of keeping the law.

We must understand that grace means that GOD has provided for us; whereas the Law means that we are attempting to DO something in order to please God.     It is a magnificent truth to know, that we are living by grace, rather than by the bondage of the law.

A good friend of mine reminds us, “If you doubt your salvation, it is probably because you think you had something to do with it. News Flash: You didn’t.”

My New Year’s Desire For The World

This is my dear and treasured  Friend, Pastor Jonathan Aparre from Bohol, Philippines.   As you read my “testimony” today, I want you to see the people that  I see when I visit Countries, as an Ambassador of Jesus Christ.  Look at his smile!   Look into his eyes and see the joy of Jesus Christ that he has!  Feel the love that exudes from this godly man!   He was one of hundreds just like this!

Image

In less than three weeks my ministry will lead me to spread the Gospel in two North west African nations.   I have many Friends from Benin and Nigeria.  I will be honored to preach the wedding service of a godly young man from Nigeria,  Abraham Adeyemi.    Look into this man’s eyes and notice the love of Jesus that is written all over his face.

Image

How can we remain with yet another year of prejudice?  Of fighting, and killing, and war?    How can we NOT support missions?  What if Missionaries would NOT had been able to take the Gospel to Countries just like these?

I have been thinking a lot about my family and my Facebook family the last few days, more so than usual. Just thinking about the friends that I have in my life, people that I honestly, sincerely feel, that we are good friends on 6 of the 7 continents, in well over 70  countries.

The thought that continues to strike me is that IF everyone in the world were  like  my Facebook friends, every war would be over;  people would truly be looking to meet the needs of one another countries and families;  they would do away with the racial prejudices that so many countries have of another country. God and I have no time for Prejudice!   I have been to many countries in my lifetime, and do you know what I have discovered?.

My Personal Discovery as an Ambassador for Jesus Christ

Every Family that I have ever met, loves their family,  just as much as I love mine.   Every family has accepted me as part of their family. No racial barriers, no feeling of superiority, just complete acceptance and Christian love..

I have even found in each country visited, that I have been treated with complete respect, even among non Christians..

I am fully aware that in every country, including my own, that we have some that do not behave like this towards people from other countries.  This of course breaks my heart and must certainly grieve the heart of God.    Why?  Because God created man!  Why? Because God loves Every Person from EVERY Country and Tribe in this world.

The Love of God IS the Difference-Maker

God loves you dear Pakistani person! God loves you in Australia!   God loves you that has experienced so many issues from the natural disasters my precious Filipino Friends!   God loves my Friends in Germany!   God has not forgotten about you, my Friends in Cambodia and Vietnam!  God loves you Zimbabwe!  God loves you Benin and Nigeria!  God loves you Ethiopia!   India, you the second largest Country in the world, God loves you!  China and Indonesia, the Largest and fourth largest Countries in the entire world, God loves you to!  America, the third largest Country in the world, God loves you!

Yes,  God loves You! He loves each Country so much that He robbed Heaven of it’s brightest jewel when He sent His precious Son, Jesus Christ into this world of woe, and sin, and hopelessness,  in order that Jesus would become sin for EACH of us (Hebrews 2:9; John 3:16; and I Timothy 1:15), and shed His Blood as the ONLY payment for our sin!

During the past four weeks,  I have been privileged to see Jesus Christ, take the Word of God which I had the privilege of sharing and He has saved hundreds of Filipinos; God forgave a lady by the name of Shamsa, in Pakistan,  that has in less than 4 weeks, taken the Gospel to MANY Pakistani People.  Look into her sweet face as she is teaching how to be saved, from the Facebook notes I used while winning her to the Lord.    Sharing the Love and Compassion of Jesus Christ IS making a difference!!

Image

He allowed me the honor of winning a lady from Bangalore, India to accept Jesus Christ as her Savior.  Yes,  I KNOW that God loves the World!

Yes,  I have even been so blessed as to be adopted as a father and  as a grandfather of people on several continents..

I’m thinking about the Christmas gift given to me by my international friends. You had  given my present throughout the year.  You have given me your love, your respect, your friendship, and in some cases, you even made me a part of your treasured family. What more good I hope to have for Christmas than these things?

I am so thankful for each of you. Many people I have not met face to face, yet I KNOW of your character through your comments on Facebook and through our Skype planning meetings.

My New Years wish for our world is that the world would  treat all Countries, all tribes, and People in the way that you and I have chosen to treat one another.  My great desire is that Churches would increase missionary support to get God-called Families into all Countries to spread the Gospel, which has the POWER to change lives; remove prejudice, eradicate the hatred Countries have for one another.

I am tired of war, of terrorism, of prejudice,  Our blood is ALL the same color.  Each Countries People have a heart.  Let us choose to use our hearts this year for more than just pumping our blood.   Let’s use our hearts to live for others, for in so doing we will fulfill the main law of Christ, which is to love one another (All Countries) EVEN AS Jesus hath loved us!  I love you very much and I value your friendship.

What do you think?  Can we not All commit to this?  I’d love to hear from you from all over the World!

Let us CHOOSE to become a Difference-Maker during 2014 for the Cause of Jesus Christ!

My Life’s verse I Corinthians 7:29:  Brethren, the Time IS Short.”  Let us therefore do ALL that we can While we can!

Principles of Pastoring (Principles 7,8)

Pastors heart 2

Written by:  Jim Kilgore, Missionary Evangelist / Church-Planter

People want a Pastor.  Throughout their time in your Church, they will NEED a Pastor, several times in fact.   Will you be there for your People when they need you?  People will need their Pastor to call them at times to rejoice with them, or at times to pray with them over a tragedy in their lives.  Sometimes just a letter such as I received from Dr. Jack Hyles, who many years earlier, while my first wife was suffering with cancer, wrote me a note just to say that he loved us and had been praying with us during this season of life.  My how that letter, which I still carry in my Bible meant to my wife and I.

To be a Pastor that communicates the love and warmth to your people, you will need the following two principles

     The Seventh Principle of Pastoring

Walk with God!    I have learned over the years that if I must guard my walk with God.  NOTHING must take the place of my personal time with God.   I am busy, very busy.   I fill my schedule with work that normally lasts 16 – 20 hours a day.  Many of you do the same.  But we must never crowd Jesus Christ out of our schedules.  Again, if you Walk with God, you will never Stumble before Man.

Then, on Sunday morning, I cannot wait to share what God and I had discussed during the other six days of the week!

    The Eighth Principle of Pastoring

The next principle is closely associated with the sixth principle:  Create your own  “Personal Growth Plan,”  (PGP)”  Do you have a plan to continually grow as a Preacher, as a Christian?   Every single person I have asked this question to has frankly admitted that they did not have a personal growth plan  (PGP).

·         Most people I surveyed had read their Bibles; many had spent some time in daily prayer; some were even memorizing Scripture.  Yet nothing was strategically planned.  By this I mean, nothing which would lead them to a certain, specific result after three months, six months, a year into the future, or even in five years.

·         There was no specific plan to overcome habits; no plan to create new positive ones.  I have learned, that most simply do not have a plan for growth in their lives which would place them in the best possible position to be used more effectively for God.  Preachers, we must have one ourselves and then teach our people how to develop a growth plan as well.

·         We all know that “If we want something, then we must do something.”  You see, Failure just Happens; but Success is Planned.  Success comes as a result of doing several things on purpose.

·         If you go after the growth that you need, you could spend the rest of your life settling for what you have become.  The question is, will “settling” provide you with the new skills necessary to lead you to the top of your mountain?

If you need help with a sample Growth plan,  please email me at: JimKilgoreMinistries@gmail.com, and request the FREE personal Growth Plan that I have now used for years, I will gladly send it to your email with-in 24 hours.

This is a must for any pastor of any sized Church to keep him focused on growing as a Christian and as a Pastor.

What America Desperately Needs: Prayer and Revival

What America Desperately Needs: Prayer and Revival II Chron. 7:14

Jim Kilgore, Missionary Evangelist

We have become a prayer less generation! Many Christians do not know what it is like to pray for even 1 hour at a time. We say that we believe in prayer, but spend so little time on our knees begging God to save America and your Country! We say we believe that God answers prayer, yet are literally SHOCKED whenever WE receive a specific answer. Why? Because many Christians have become Atheistic Believers. We BELIEVE that God can, yet DOUBT that He will move in response to our prayers.

Great Men of God Believed in Praying

• Dr. Jowett said, “I’d rather teach ONE man how to pray than to teach TEN men how to preach.”

• Baxter said, “Men may spurn our appeals; reject our message; oppose our arguments; but they are HELPLESS against our prayers.”

• Judson said, “The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from our prayer less studies; from our prayer less witnessing; from our prayer less work; YET he trembles when we pray!

• John Wesley said, “Sir, I’m too busy NOT to pray.”

• Martin Luther said, “I am so busy that I must spend the first three hours in prayer.”

• James 5:16 says: “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

The Secret of ALL Failure is Prayerlessness

We Christians put on such a show; lives filled with mere pretense. I am weary of mere talk. We can talk a great game. Christians, America NEEDS us to pray! Revival WILL NOT come apart from the prayers of the Righteous Believer. We MUST Have Revival in America!!

America, Please Don’t Wait until it’s too Late!

In Luke chapter 16 we read of a poor soul that entered into the School of Prayer immediately upon his arrival in hell! He asked for relief from his pain. But it was too late! He begged Abraham for just one drop of water to cool his tongue for he is tormented by the flames of hell. But it was too late! He earnestly pleaded that someone warn his brothers about hell. But it was too late! He was turned down! I believe that prayerlessness on earth will go unanswered in hell.

In the Book of Genesis God used one righteous man that Walked with Him to Warn the World of the judgment He was about to send to a godless, God rejecting society. Noah faithfully preached the message of God, yet not even one person would receive the message from God’s man. No, not even one! The entire world could be saved from the flood! Yet they waited one day too late. The rain fell and eventually the flood waters covered the face of the earth and every man, woman and child died. It was so needless. If only they would have believed and received the message of God.

In the Book of Jeremiah, Jeremiah warned the nation about the judgment of God that was about to fall upon them. They, like America, chose to ignore the Call from the Man of God. Yet in the Book of Lamentations, we see the people of God being carried into captivity because of their sins. Hear the cries, the screams, feel their pain as they are now experiencing the fruit of the sin. Feel their pain; experience their loss; above all, learn from their apathy and casual approach to God.

Look around you Christian. Don’t say that it cannot happen to America! We must, we must, we must, we MUST have revival in America! This revival can start with you!

Will you join me as I am trying to call America back to God?

In the book of Jonah an entire city fell to its knees repenting of their sin and God heard their cry and saved each one! This was a city steeped in their sin. This was a city in the Prophet Jonah was hoping would continue in their calloused ways. Yet they repented and experienced the forgiveness of sins.

This can happen to your Church, to your City, to your Country, to your Continent.

My prayer, burning from the depth of my heart and soul has been, “God save America! When I surrendered to preach 39 years ago, I only asked two things from God than, and I pray them daily now. First, God help me to Win many souls to Jesus Christ. Second, help me to be used of you to Wake up America and save our Nation! I have six Children and 15 Grandchildren at the preaching of this message. I do NOT want to see them experience what the Children of Israel experienced.

• Again, will you join me by Repenting of your sin, as I have done?
• Will you Return unto God as I have done?
• Will you beg God for Revival each day for our nation?
• Will you Rededicate your LIFE unto becoming a Difference-Maker for Jesus Christ and America?

Unforgiveness: Releasing Your Resentment

   wpid-2013-03-04-14-07-08-2082969431.jpeg

By Jim Kilgore, Missionary Evangelist

There he is.  “He makes me sick,” he thought to himself.  I never want to see or speak to that man again!

Is there someone in your life that “gets under your skin?”   Does the mere mention of their name produce a stabbing pain in your stomach?  Has this person hurt you beyond what you believe is your ability to forgive?  If so, this discussion is for.  I write to “Add Value” to my readers and I want to reassure you, that you can be released from the resentment which currently exists in your heart.

Biblical Forgiveness is the only successful method for handling unrighteous anger

Unless we are willing to release the people who have wronged us, bitterness and resentment will take up residence in our lives. Through the act of forgiveness, we can learn to let go of anger and find the freedom God desires for each of His children to possess.

Understandably, it is not easy to forgive the one whose arrow has pierced your heart.   Yet when  Christians refuses to deal Biblically with the hurt, the hurt becomes a weapon against us.   It dramatically affects us in ways we may not yet understand.

It affects your relationship with the one who has hurt you; it will most definitely affect your personal relationship with Jesus Christ; and it will have a definite impact on yourself.   There is no winner when Christians choose not to handle the hurt Biblically.

How are we to treat People that has hurt us?

1.   We are to practice Biblical forbearance.   Ephesians 4:2: “With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.”

What does forbearance really mean   Forbearance is “lovingly putting up with the faults of another.”   It is a gentle spirit.  It means that I do not feel the need to challenge another’s actions or even motives as it relates to me.      It is allowing  “love to cover a multitude of sins” as commanded in I Peter.

We must learn to allow our Family and Friends to have an occasional bad day without confronting every situation.   We often, without realizing it, “Place our loved ones on Trial every day.”  We sub-consciously force them to achieve a 100% in order to get an A on the test.   This is an unrealistic standard.   Only Jesus Christ is perfect.

Colossians 3:13 “ Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”

2.   We are to live our the four commands Jesus taught in His “Sermon on the Mount“.  Jesus was speaking about the actions a Christian must take when dealing with those who have been hurt.  Matthew 5:44: ” But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”

  • We are to demonstrate Biblical love to those that have hurt us.  You must decide the specific ways in which you can demonstrate the sacrificial love which our Lord continually demonstrated to those who hurt Him.
  • We are to bless those hurters of our souls.  The word bless carries the idea of “speaking well of another.”   Yes, this is what Jesus is telling us to do.  What?  Are you serious?  Are you kidding me”, you may be wondering.   I said God’s way WILL work;  I did not say that God’s way would be easy.   They may be critical of you;  perhaps they shared gossip about you;  they may be attempting to ruin you.  Yet Jesus said that we are to exchange hatred for love;  criticism for compliments.  Isaiah was 100% correct when he said: “God’s thought are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways.
  • After speaking well of our critic, we are now to do good unto them.   We are told to do something tangible to help the very one that is trying to destroy you!    Yes, this is what Jesus taught and expects from us.   Romans 5:8 reminds me how Jesus practiced this principle to me.  “But God commendeth (proved, demonstrated) His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”   He did the same for you as well.   We who are the recipients of God’s love, grace, and mercy, how can we do anything but follow the example and extend it to others?
  • We are now required to pray for our offender.     I know what you are thinking right now.  I will pray for God to dealing harshly with them.   I have thought those thoughts myself.  How did Jesus pray for His persecutors?   Luke reveals this to us as Jesus is hanging on the cross:       “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”

A Christian cannot expect our Father to forgive us while holding an unforgiving spirit.   Matthew 6:14: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”

A FORGIVEN PEOPLE IS TO BE A FORGIVING PEOPLE

To Whom will you practice this lesson with starting today?
