Missions: God Asked me to Go; How Could I Say No!

In the Book of Jonah, God told Jonah to go to Nineveh and cry against it. Jonah refused. His prejudice for the Ninevites ran so deep in his soul that when God said to GO, Jonah actually said NO! Amazing! I simply do not understand how anyone could say no to God. He created us; died on the cross for us; saved us when we repented of our sins and received Him as our Savior. No, I could not refuse Jesus Christ! God has opened the door for me to do something which is so big that I am dwarfed by the magnitude of it. God has opened the door for my Missionary Team to take the Gospel and win souls and start Churches on EACH of the 7 Continents! I am humbled with this call.

I have been asked by several people, “Why go to Other Countries?” There is so much work needed to do here. My simple answer has been: America has heard the Gospel repeatedly! America has rejected the Gospel, for the most part. Yet, Untold Billions are STILL Untold all over the world! I can no longer sit idly by and not get involved in “Rescuing the Perishing and Care for the Dying.”

• In Yemen, a tiny Middle Eastern Country. Twice the population of Kentucky, a state in America, with 24 million people, has only EIGHT KNOWN Christians in their Entire Country! I must go for them!

• Indonesia is the fourth largest country in the world with around 251 million people. It also is the largest population of Muslims of any country. Yet, if my facts are correct, has only five Independent Baptist Churches in the entire country. This is why I must go!

• As of 4/21/14, there are 7.228 Billion people living on this planet. Yet, in the 10/40 window, there are 4.65 BILLION people living in these countries with 2.25 BILLION classified as have NEVER heard the Gospel! Think about this for a moment. They have NEVER heard the Gospel! This is why I MUST go!

• Pakistan is the SIXTH Largest with a Population of Country of 183 million! The number of KNOWN Christians are 238,000.

• The population of India is: 1 Billion 265 Million precious souls! The number of Christians are 21 million. This leaves 98 % unevangelized; only 2% has been Evangelized.

So, Why MUST I Go?

I.  I have a Specific Call: I neither offered, nor Volunteered for this! It was too Big for me to conceive.

A. The Call:   In December 2012, while praying, God extended the call to “Go Global with the Gospel.”

B. The Confirmation of the Call:

• Philippians 4:13: “I can do ALL things through Christ which strengthens me.”

• Jeremiah 33:33: “Call unto Me and I will answer thee and showest thou GREAT and Mighty things which thou KNOWEST NOT”

• Matthew 19:26: “But Jesus beheld them and said unto them, with men this is impossible, but WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.”

• John 15:5: “…without Me, ye can DO NOTHING.”

• Each of these verses confirmed to me that, although the task is daunting and impossible for ME to accomplish, I would not be alone. I would not need to go in my power, but in the power of God Himself! It reminded me, “I can’t, but God CAN!

• Then God gave me I Corinthians 7:29: “…the time IS short.” Therefore, I must do all that I can while I can for the Glory of God!

II.  I have Sincere Compassion: I care about the Lost. I care about your eternal, never dying soul. Your Soul WILL live somewhere, forever!

• Jude 1:22: “And some having compassion, MAKE A DIFFERENCE.” I want to be a Difference-Maker.
• Psalm 142:4: “….No man cared for my Soul.”

III.  I have a Steadfast Cause: I Sam. 17:29: “And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?”

A.   My Cause is to Evangelize the World. God has allowed me to become a part of something so incredibly big, that I am overwhelmed w/ responsibly of it.

B.   Here are my CORE Beliefs which motivated me to say Yes to God’s Plan:

1)   I believe w/ all my heart that All are sinners  (Rom. 3:23)

2)   I believe w/ all my heart that w/o Jesus-ALL will go to hell  (Rev. 20:14-15)

3)   I believe w/ all my heart that Jesus paid for EVERYONE’S (Heb. 2:9)

4)   I believe w/ all my heart that ANYONE CAN be forgiven (Rom. 10:13)

5)  I believe w/ all my heart that God has ALREADY prepared hearts Acts 8: Ethiopian Eunuch was seeking God; so God SENT a man, just like me, just like other missionaries, to Win him to Jesus Christ!

6)  I believe w/ all my heart I Corinthians 7:29: I have Experience, Soul-winner (Hundreds have been saved in 8.5 months) Knowledge, BUT 1 things I DON’T Have and this is time. Every time your heart beats two people slip off into eternity!  I cannot wait; I must go win souls and start Churches!

How shall they hear?   Untold Millions was the Missionary Cry of Yesteryear. Not for me! My Missionary cry is: Untold Billions REMAIN Untold!

But you may die, some have said to me. Yes, I might. I might at that. But if through my death there is a man like Saul of Tarsus watching and later gets saved and spreads the Gospel, will my life have been worth it? I think so.

 Philippians 1:21: “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

 

 

Eight Lies of My Mother

 

The story began when I was a child; I was a son of a poor family. We did not even have enough food. When ever meal times came, mother would often give me her portion of rice. While she was removing her rice into my bowl, she would say “Eat this rice, son. I’m not hungry.”     That was Mother’s First Lie.

When I was growing up, my persevering mother gave her spare time to go fishing in a river near our house, she hoped that from the fish she caught, she could give me a little bit of nutritious food for my growth. After fishing, she would cook some fresh fish soup, which raised my appetite. While I was eating the soup, mother would sit beside me and eat the rest of the fish, which was still on the bone of the fish I had eaten. My heart was touched when I saw that. I then used my fork and gave the other fish to her. But she immediately refused and said “Eat this fish, son. I don’t really like fish.”     That was Mother’s Second Lie.

 

Then, when I was in Junior High School…… to fund my studies, mother went to an economic enterprise to bring some used-match boxes that would need to be stuck together. It gave her some money to cover our needs. As the winter came, I woke up from my sleep and looked at my mother who was still awake, supported by a little candlelight and with perseverance she would continue the work of sticking some used-match boxes. I said, “Mother, go to sleep, it’s late, tomorrow morning you still have to go to work. Mother smiled and said “Go to sleep, dear. I’m not tired.”    That was Mother’s Third Lie.

The final term arrived….. ..Mother asked for leave from work in order to accompany me. While the sun was starting to shine strongly, my persevering mother waited for me under the heat for several hours. As the bell rang, which indicated that the final exam had finished, mother immediately welcomed me and poured me a cup of tea that she had brought in a flask. Seeing my mother covered with perspiration, I at once gave her my cup and asked her to drink too. Mother said “Drink, son. I’m not thirsty!”  That was Mother’s Fourth Lie.

After the death of my father due to illness, my poor mother had to play her role as a single parent. She had to fund our needs alone. Our family’s life was more complicated. No days without suffering. Our family’s condition was getting worse, a kind uncle who lived near our house assisted now and then. Our neighbors often advised my mother to marry again. But mother was stubborn and didn’t take their advice; she said “I don’t need love.” That was Mother’s Fifth Lie.

After I had finished my studies and got a job, it was the time for my old mother to retire. But she didn’t want to; she would go to the market place every morning, just to sell some vegetables to fulfill her needs. I, who worked in another city, often sent her some money to help her, in fulfilling her needs, but she would not accept the money. At times, she even sent the money back to me. She said “I have enough money.”   That was Mother’s Sixth Lie.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree, I then continued to do a Master’s Degree. It was funded by a company through a scholarship program. I finally worked in the company. With a good salary, I intended to bring my mother to enjoy her life in Gulf. But my lovely mother didn’t want to bother her son. She said to me, “I’m not use to.”  That was Mother’s Seventh Lie.

In her old age, mother got stomach cancer and had to be hospitalized. I, who lived miles away, across the ocean, went home to visit my dearest mother. She lay in weakness on her bed after having an operation. Mother, who looked so old, was staring at me in deep thought. She tried to spread her smile on her face…but it was a noticeable effort. It was clear that the disease had weakened mother’s body. She looked so frail and weak. I stared at my mother with tears flowing. My heart was hurt,… so hurt, seeing my mother in that condition. But mother with the little strength she had, said “Don’t cry, my dear. I’m not in pain.”   That was Mother’s Eighth and Last Lie.

After saying her eighth lie, my Dearest mother closed her eyes forever .      – Unknown

This story was NOT written by me, just copied, because I think this lady represents thousands of Mothers and Fathers across this world.

We must do our part to help them. JKM, Jim Kilgore Ministries is beginning a feeding ministry in Pakistan as I share this story with you. While JKM fed many people last Saturday, my heart was broken because we did not have enough money to feed those that came to hear the Preaching of the Gospel. I desire to start some in the Philippines and in India at the present time.

God’s Precious Promise of Provision   Philippians 4:19

 

I feel led, after a lot of prayer today, to speak words of encouragement to my Preacher and Missionary Friends. God has PROMISED to supply ALL your needs according to HIS riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 

 Money for your ministry, at times, may seems like an impossible task. However, after 43 years of being a Christian, I can assure you that while I often Cannot, God ALWAYS Can! Ephesians 3:20;   Matthew 19:26.

 Brethren, our God is trustworthy and dependable, Titus 1:2. He has never promised an easy life for any of us, but He ever remains faithful! He WILL supply in His time and THROUGH the people of HIS choosing.   You will come to realize that when you have nothing left but God, then perhaps for the first time in your life, that God IS enough!  

This is why I seldom ask people to pray about specific financial needs.  I want to be assured that God is the One who has moved in response to the prayer of His servant.  It is an amazing way to live your life knowing that God STILL answers prayers and is doing the seemly impossible today.   He does not need for me to tell everyone about financial needs; God does not need me asking those that I consider to be wealthy to “pray” for my financial need to be met. 

God KNOWS when a sparrow falls to the ground and He KNOWS what things you have need of before you even ask.   “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.   But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore,Ye are of more value than many sparrows.”  Matthew 10: 29-31.

  Matthew 6:25-34.   This will remind you of how important You and the ministry God has given to is.  Take particular note of verse 30:  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

 Even now, I know some are most discouraged, as you know not Where or When God’s supply shall come. But you MUST not lose heart, for you KNOW it IS coming. God has Promised! You may have a check in the mail for you today! He may lead someone in your town to assist you this Sunday.

You may be thinking, but you are an American and have no need.   Really? Are you kidding me? Are you serious? After I spent over $425 for a Visa to enter Nigeria, and spent SEVERAL hundred dollars to purchase my flight ticket to Nigeria, and after I send $300 to do my part to pay the salaries of three Filipino men to pastor the Churches started as a result of JKM, and I purchase my flight ticket to start 2 Churches in India, which comes up after our Philippine’s journey.  I will have this amount in my account: $ 00.00. I have 22% of my support in at this writing. Yes, I know what “needs” are.   I actually welcome them because then I can see what God wants to do in my life.  I often envied George Mueller who had to pray in his money to feed the children living in the orphanage.   I believe God wants more of us to simply depend upon HIM for our daily needs.  He has NEVER let me down!  He is continually leading His servants to live a life of complete and continual dependence upon Him!  My question to you is simple:  “Are you Cooperating with God’s plan or have you been secretly Complaining and Criticizing His Purpose for your life?”

So I am sharing this message of Hope in God for ALL of Us to simply trust in the One who has called us to such a great undertaking. I am not complaining; I am not worried; I am not stressed; I am not questioning God. Actually, I am rejoicing, I honestly am, for I Know for that the Provision of the Lord is just around the corner. How can I be so certain? Because I have chosen all these years to TRUST my Heavenly Father to Do that which He has PROMISED! Won’t you as well?

 

 As I have often said, “The bank vaults in Heaven are NOT affected by the economy in which we live.” Our economy matters not to God as far as His ability to KEEP HIS WORD and faithfully supply ALL of our needs,   Philippians 4:19.

 

You can Pray, Believe, and Receive; or, You can Pray, Doubt, and go Without!

My New Year’s Desire For The World

This is my dear and treasured  Friend, Pastor Jonathan Aparre from Bohol, Philippines.   As you read my “testimony” today, I want you to see the people that  I see when I visit Countries, as an Ambassador of Jesus Christ.  Look at his smile!   Look into his eyes and see the joy of Jesus Christ that he has!  Feel the love that exudes from this godly man!   He was one of hundreds just like this!

In less than three weeks my ministry will lead me to spread the Gospel in two North west African nations.   I have many Friends from Benin and Nigeria.  I will be honored to preach the wedding service of a godly young man from Nigeria,  Abraham Adeyemi.    Look into this man’s eyes and notice the love of Jesus that is written all over his face.

How can we remain with yet another year of prejudice?  Of fighting, and killing, and war?    How can we NOT support missions?  What if Missionaries would NOT had been able to take the Gospel to Countries just like these?

I have been thinking a lot about my family and my Facebook family the last few days, more so than usual. Just thinking about the friends that I have in my life, people that I honestly, sincerely feel, that we are good friends on 6 of the 7 continents, in well over 70  countries.

The thought that continues to strike me is that IF everyone in the world were  like  my Facebook friends,every war would be over;  people would truly be looking to meet the needs of one another countries and families;  they would do away with the racial prejudices that so many countries have of another country. God and I have no time for Prejudice!   I have been to many countries in my lifetime, and do you know what I have discovered?.

My Personal Discovery as an Ambassador for Jesus Christ

Every Family that I have ever met, loves their family,  just as much as I love mine.   Every family has accepted me as part of their family. No racial barriers, no feeling of superiority, just complete acceptance and Christian love..

I have even found in each country visited, that I have been treated with complete respect, even among non Christians..

I am fully aware that in every country, including my own, that we have some that do not behave like this towards people from other countries.  This of course breaks my heart and must certainly grieve the heart of God.    Why?  Because God created man!  Why? Because God loves Every Person from EVERY Country and Tribe in this world.

The Love of God IS the Difference-Maker

God loves you dear Pakistani person! God loves you in Australia!   God loves you that has experienced so many issues from the natural disasters my precious Filipino Friends!   God loves my Friends in Germany!   God has not forgotten about you, my Friends in Cambodia and Vietnam!  God loves you Zimbabwe!  God loves you Benin and Nigeria!  God loves you Ethiopia!   India, you the second largest Country in the world, God loves you!  China and Indonesia, the Largest and fourth largest Countries in the entire world, God loves you to!  America, the third largest Country in the world, God loves you!

Yes,  God loves You! He loves each Country so much that He robbed Heaven of it’s brightest jewel when He sent His precious Son, Jesus Christ into this world of woe, and sin, and hopelessness,  in order that Jesus would become sin for EACH of us (Hebrews 2:9; John 3:16; and I Timothy 1:15), and shed His Blood as the ONLY payment for our sin!

During the past four weeks,  I have been privileged to see Jesus Christ, take the Word of God which I had the privilege of sharing and He has saved hundreds of Filipinos; God forgave a lady by the name of Shamsa, in Pakistan,  that has in less than 4 weeks, taken the Gospel to MANY Pakistani People.  Look into her sweet face as she is teaching how to be saved, from the Facebook notes I used while winning her to the Lord.    Sharing the Love and Compassion of Jesus Christ IS making a difference!!

He allowed me the honor of winning a lady from Bangalore, India to accept Jesus Christ as her Savior.  Yes,  I KNOW that God loves the World!

Yes,  I have even been so blessed as to be adopted as a father and  as a grandfather of people on several continents..

I’m thinking about the Christmas gift given to me by my international friends. You had  given my present throughout the year.  You have given me your love, your respect, your friendship, and in some cases, you even made me a part of your treasured family. What more good I hope to have for Christmas than these things?

I am so thankful for each of you. Many people I have not met face to face, yet I KNOW of your character through your comments on Facebook and through our Skype planning meetings.

My New Years wish for our world is that the world would  treat all Countries, all tribes, and People in the way that you and I have chosen to treat one another.  My great desire is that Churches would increase missionary support to get God-called Families into all Countries to spread the Gospel, which has the POWER to change lives; remove prejudice, eradicate the hatred Countries have for one another.

I am tired of war, of terrorism, of prejudice,  Our blood is ALL the same color.  Each Countries People have a heart.  Let us choose to use our hearts this year for more than just pumping our blood.   Let’s use our hearts to live for others, for in so doing we will fulfill the main law of Christ, which is to love one another (All Countries) EVEN AS Jesus hath loved us!  I love you very much and I value your friendship.

God’s Call to a Missionary: The Process God Used with Me

     In December of 2012 God called me to leave my comfort zone and to focus on winning Souls on Every Continent to Jesus Christ. Let me share my story with you.

It all started in early December, 2012 as I was praying for God to lay specific areas of focus upon my heart. I had been praying frequently during a two day period during which time God specifically spoke to my heart about a Global Ministry. I am ashamed, but I laughed out loud, almost uncontrollably. Who was I to engage and embark upon such a massive task?
Yet after the two days of “wrestling with God” concerning this matter, I yielded to His will. I asked God to verify His call through Scripture, as He has always confirmed His leading through the Word of God. L

Listed below are the Scriptures God placed in my mind:

•  Matthew 19:26: “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”

•  Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

•  John 15:5: “…. for without me ye can do nothing.”

•  Ephesians 3:20: “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

•  I Corinthians 7:29: “But this I say, brethren, the Time IS Short…”

The first four verses confirmed that it was not “my ministry”, but God’s ministry!  Through these verses God reminded me that I Can’t, but God CAN!”  After this surrender and understanding of God’s call and leading, I began asking Him to open my eyes to understand His plan for the final quarter of my

To the best of my ability, I will share in a greater detail my understanding of JKM

1.   It all started with Prayer. “Father, what wilt Thou have me to Accomplish and to Achieve for You this year. Too much time has been spent on earthly pursuits and selfish ambitions. Please direct me to Your plan.”

2.   As I was in fervent prayer, a Spiritual Problem was presented to me. The problem was that well over 90% of the world was without Jesus Christ. There remains BILLIONS without the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Another problem God presented to my during this time was that each time my heart would beat, two souls would slip off into eternity.   Then the Holy Spirit brought yet three more Scriptures to my mind concerning this grave problem as found in Matthew 9:36-38: “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. This WAS a most serious spiritual problem.

3.   After agonizing over this spiritual problem, I soon began to see the Path which was the direction from God, beginning to open my eyes of understanding to His will.

4.   As I began to see a bit more clearly what God had in store, this path created a Spiritual Passion with-in my soul.    I Corinthians 7:29: “But this I say, brethren, the Time IS Short…” I knew that at age 58 my time was limited. If I live to be 70, I now have 11 years left. I had already lived and traveled through the first three quarters of my life. Then I began begging God to allow me to accomplish more for Him during the final quarter of my life than in the first three quarters combined! Therefore, my life began to change. I now live each day as though it were my last. I must work; I must win souls; I must start Churches all over the World; I must be willing to go wherever the light is the darkest and show all nations the Light of the World, which of course is Jesus Christ! The burning in my soul has created a passion to start Churches all over the World. I have asked my Father to plant at least one Church in EVERY Continent!

5.      The passion has led me to a Clear Purpose of God’s plan.    It is God’s will that ALL men should Repent of their sins and Receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. Jesus became man’s Substitute and Shed His precious and perfect Blood as payment for EVERY MAN’S sins!      

•       Hebrews 2:9 states:  “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”     

•       II Peter 3:9 emphatically states: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that ANY should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance.”      Therefore, I must go with the absolute assurance that I have in the Inerrant, Infallible Word of God, the ONLY Solution to this Great and Grave spiritual problem:  Jesus Christ,    John 14:6.          

 

6.      God’s purpose has led to a continual unfolding of the establishment of Processes    which will allow me to accomplish God’s plan.    

 

7.     The processes lead to a daily Prioritization.     With each day’s activities I focus on those areas of activities which will lead to the accomplishment of God’s will!

 

As I close this lengthy article on my Missionary call,  I am going to make two simple requests of you.  One is for Fervent Prayer while the other is a Financial Plea.         Now that I have literally poured out my soul to the world, I shall share the next step in walking down God’s path for me.   Earlier I said I shared that “I can’t but that God can.”    Now I come to the role which You can play in literally reaching the World for Jesus Christ            

 

      a.      My Prayer is that God would raise up hundreds of Christians which are committed to a    Fervency in prayer, and specifically for this ministry.     Remember John 15:5?    I believe this with all of my heart.  

      b.       My Plea is for that of Financial Support.   This plea is not really for myself, but for the ministry of reaching lost souls for Jesus Christ!   

       JKM has the responsibility of raising money to  purchase flight tickets;  needs of just two meals a day; lodging arrangements while on the field.       I work day and night on the field.   I am truly about my Father’s business of soul-winning; Teaching Pastors;   Preaching nearly every day.    

     I would make my Plea for you to pray with me about INVESTING in JKM as we are focused on reaching all parts of the World with the Gospel.     Remember I Corinthians 7:29 says:  “But this I say, brethren, the Time IS Short…”  

Therefore I must do ALL that I can WHILE I can!
